The Levellers, Battle of the Beanfield - Video I did using footage of the Levellers in 1992, combined with archive footage of the actual police action taken from the "operation Solstice" documentary.. If you like it please pop to my youtube www.youtube.com/dimspace and rate it and comment.. Cheers
Hate pop stars?? You really should watch that video ^^^
Who's me.. Music fan, drunkard, and geek. If not at a gig somewhere then probably getting drunks somewhere, if not at a gig or getting drunk then probably on here working out what to do and where do go next.
And when we not at gigs, then we are trying to do our little bit in putting them on.. still learning, but have organised small gigs for amongst others Nick Harper, 3 Daft Monkeys, Racheal Wright, and Hobo Jones And TJD. Keeping ourselves to putting on one a year now..
PLEASE Do go look at my freinds.. most of them are infinately more interesting, and on the whole far more talented than me.. go see em, buy there cd's (if they have cd's) or just be there freind... they are all nice people.. which brings me to....
Freinds - For every request i get I DO GO AND LOOK AT THE PROFILE - I do not add anyone who wants me to join there kinky hareem, I do not add anyone who wants me to buy there merchandise.. If you are band with 15000 friends who are just spamming to shit then im not going to add you (I will listen to you) but if you cant be arsed to at least send some sort of personal message as to why you think i will like your music then i cant be arsed to be your freind, listen to you, or spend money on your records.. (and if you a death metal band from utah... come on.. listen to the freinds on my profile.. do you really think i am into you)...
Who I'd like to meet:
Who would i like to meet? Anybody interesting... Dont tolerate arrogant people, stupid people, people who think they are better than everyone else, in the words of Bob Dylan "And it ain't in the marshmallow noises of the chocolate cake voices, That come knockin' and tappin' in Christmas wrappin', Sayin' ain't I pretty and ain't I cute and look at my skin, Look at my skin shine, look at my skin glow, Look at my skin laugh, look at my skin cry, When you can't even sense if they got any insides, These people so pretty in their ribbons and bows"
Interests
General
..THE WEDDING VIDEO 29th July 2006 The wonderful rendition of all you need is love was recorded live on the night... hence the slightly drunken performance :D (and yes, this is the version with Phil missing his E... will redo at some point)
THE STAG & HEN NIGHT - 27th May 2006 - The Northbridge Inn in the company of the Mighty Fish Brothers - For those who didnt know us then, dont know us now, or who wernt there, YES we had a joint stag and hen do... With the magnificent Fish Brothers, the wonderful Denise Marie, and the extremely pissed Sparky & Rich performing.. Unconvential, maybe, great, Damn Right :D
THE WEDDING - 29th July 2006 - Somewhere in the northeast of england :D
Drinking, Dancing, Watching Bands, Working... Working.. Working... Seem to have recently gained ground in the drinking and dancing area...
Music
Yup.. Anything that aint house, hip hop, or Pop...
Levellers, Bleeders, 3 Daft Monkeys, Nick Harper, Nick Cave, Rory Ellis, Arnie Cottrell, Oysterband, Dylan, Beatles, Ska, Punk, Reggae, Anything.. :D I will listen to anything where there is just a modicum of talent on display.. if people have no talent, no matter what genre it is.. I wont listen...
favourite songs of all time... (at the moment.. it changes daily)
Positively 4th Street - Bob Dylan
Blind Willie Mctell - Arnie Cottrell
The Boxer - Paul Simon
The entire b-side of abbey road - the beatles
Highwayman - waylon, willie, kriss and johnny cash
Walk this way - run dmc (an absolute classic)
(more to come)
Movies
Anything with Denzel Washington in, anything with Robert De Niro in, beyond that, anything that ISNT given 5 stars by the sun or the star and described as either gross out, teen, or american comedy.. Current favourite, WALK HARD - THE DEWEY COX STORY - if you havnt seen it... Go see it!
Favourites of all time
Star Wars (the original viewing in the cinema as a child)
Hurricane - Denzel Washington
Remember the titans - Denzel Washington
Planet of the apes (again, the original not that remake shite)
High Fidelity
Memento (even if it did take three times before i completely got it)
Anything that challenges me, from discovery channel, to decent thrillers, to the amazing race (which is just class).. struggle to watch any series as my lifestyle is too disorganised to watch something every week... (with the exception of 24).... Dont watch anything that involves American Women cos on the whole female american actors are braindead (you know what im talking about)
Books
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby.. I just read that repeatedly.. its cheaper that way, only have to buy one book. And working my way through numerous books on Lance Armstrong
Heroes
Kenny Dalglish, Lance Armstrong, Bob Dylan, and the bloke who invented Rizlas.
