BIO:
Born September 20, 1991 on Staten Island, New York - Dina Rocco has been singing and writing music since she can remember. With influences ranging from Christina Aguilera to Def Leppard, she loves writing and singing her own lyrics and melodies since a young age. Currently with her debut EP which includes 5 songs recorded over an age-span of 12 to 15, and quite a few talent shows and public access television spots under her belt, Dina Rocco is determined to make her dreams come true and her voice be heard. From the up-tempo “beat never leaves your head” & catchy melodies of “Once Again” & “Go” to the heart-felt, soul-bearing cries of the ballad “Forever & Always” and love long-lost “But (I Guess I was Wrong),” the hook is in your mouth and your draw has hit the floor; how can a girl so young be capable of so much?
In October of 2006 Dina sang the National Anthem at the first concert in a series for the Montel Williams Multiple Sclerosis Foundation; a concert dubbed in its second year "MS MUSIC FEST 2006." She also had her song "Once Again" featured on a Pop/Rock Compilation CD alongside a slew of other artists from around the world; the album is still raising money for Multiple Sclerosis through www.montelms.org.
In late February of 2007, with the help of Crooked Halo Productions, Dina made her first music video for “Once Again” and entered into MusicNation.com, an online contest where the winner gets a Record Deal with EPIC RECORDS. In only the second week of her entry, Dina upset the contest and with over 10,000 votes within the course of seven days, she grasped a strong fist onto 1st place and thus has now advanced into the Quarter Finals of the contest, beating out over 300 other artists to the finish line. (The contest will resume the next round approximately around April 22nd, 2007)
So what is it about this 15-year-old talent that has everyone talking? It can only be summed up in 3 words…Pop With Integrity.
