“ I’m the writer that never learned to read, a birth control baby that fought to be conceived, an accident to say the least.” Dinci Va, a wooden Axe. What’s not an accident is the driving yet original songs and style of Dinci Va. Up and coming alternative rock band Dinci Va was created by singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Kyle Gerardi Nadeau. Kyle is a self taught guitar player of over 12 years. He has recorded over 200 songs in the last three years, and was born and raised in Los Angeles. His intense sound and lyrics have gained him a devoted fan base.
Dinci Va is just now releasing their first demo CD of 19 songs, entitled At Your Service. Several musicians collaborated on the 19 songs of At Your Service. Kyle Gerardi first formed Dinci Va with drummer Cody Witt, who plays on most of the songs. Other drummers on the demo include Zak Hudson, who also contributed bass and keys along with providing the studio, and finally Alex Estrada. There is a rage expressed in his songs like that of a lion being restricted in a controlled habitat, desperately thrashing to get out. Followed by those are desperate, haunting acoustic and piano songs, expressing a vulnerability and passion that make his sound that much more distinct.
Dinci Va has self booked over 45 shows in Los Angeles in the past year, playing in such sought after venues as The Viper Room, The Knitting Factory, and Safari Sams. Dinci Va was featured in the August Off the Grid Music Festival in Eugene Oregon, where Kyle Gerardi was the only artist to be asked to play 3 times at the 2 day festival and was chosen as the featured artist of the festival to be written about for the papers. Along with their extensive playing in Los Angeles venues, Dinci Va was also featured on the internet radio show, Radio Free Silver lake. The band is at this time pending a distribution and licensing contract with Full Entertainment, for distribution overseas. Their melodic sound, sometimes violent guitar style, sometimes haunting and peaceful, are accented by vulnerable vocals and pounding drums, can currently be seen playing shows around the Seattle area. They will also be selling merchandise through their website and companies such as itunes.
Dinci Va’s sound is a mix of poetic lyrics, hard hitting drums, and the vocal style of its creator Kyle Gerardi. While he possesses a genuine grime scream it is combined with an emotionally charged melodic voice. Their unique style make them one of the few bands emerging from a sea of generic stock rock. With major influences ranging from bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Modest Mouse, and Radiohead, the sound that comes out is truly original while being prolific at the same time. Dinci Va plan to emerge from the generic music scene at the time with a sound of sincerity and passion.
