General
Art, Love, Music, Toys. The art of Pop music, popular culture, retro modern design, guitars looking at them, guitars trying to play them. Books, bookstores, libraries, big glossy magazines. I'm a student of good industrial design, product design, modern design. Stencil art, hand silkscreening, smelly art.
Right this minute my favorite bands are Reigning Sound and Electrelane because they both play great rock and roll with tremendous energy. Tegan & Sara's The Con is one of the best pop records I've ever heard. The Clash are like the best band of all time.

Paul Westerberg, The Minus Five, The Clash, Liam & Noel, Phil & Don, Tegan & Sara, Charlie & Lola, Frank & Nancy, The Mockers, Kevin Rowland, Pink, The Pet Shop Boys, Marvin Gaye, Dusty Springfield, Elliott Smith...
I love Gram Parsons, all Reggae, all Ska, all Motown, Butch Walker, Mike Ness, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, The Mekons, Billie Joe Armstrong, Clem Snide, Ryan Adams, Jesse Malin, Missy Higgins, way way too much to list. But I dislike more music than I like.
I love Patti Smith who made the greatest rock'n roll record of all time. I love the theme song from Green Acres. All the New York bands: Television, The Ramones, New York Dolls, Blondie: Clem Burke the greatest drummer in the world, Jimmy Destri my favorite songwriter, Gary Valentine, etc. etc. etc.
Movies
The Fight Club, Jacob's Ladder, Mr & Mrs Smith, Ocean's Twelve, Quentin Tarantino, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Martin Scorcese, anything filmed in New York. I absolutely love Edward Norton anyplace anytime. Any movie that has time travel in it really pisses me off. The Fisher King, The Chosen and the Seventh Sign are among my very very favorite films. Renee Zellweger also anytime.
If you didn't see Patti Smith perform in the 70's you should know what you missed. Switchblades Preferred.

Television
I don't own a TV so there's no chance of running into a political commentary or reality show in my house.
dincTYPE was founded at least ten years ago by diane dipiazza who is me. That's as far back as I can remember. We're your one-stop pop culture funhouse on the internet.
We're girlswhowearglasses.com. dinc originally was a small independent commercial type company with loads of interesting fonts and authentic vintage line art in font format. Cool huh? What's even better is I got really bored with the "way too much information superhighway" and really wanted to try to bring some fun back to the commercialism that is the web.
So dinc! became a free font company with the same supercool fonts from our commercial library. Our vintage clipart collection is great and as inexpensive as we could possibly make it.
We are located in beautiful Hoboken NJ, the birthplace of Frank Sinatra in the Mystifyingly Glad Design Studio. It takes about 5 seconds to get to Manhattan on the PATH train, conveniently located around the corner from our studio. We're squished in between a pub on one side and a full-time psychic on the other. It always feels like our art is directly influenced by our geography.
mGLADdesign is a full service design company where we make art night & day. We're equipped with every Apple product. every art supply ever made, and the best design team in the world: diane dipiazza is the master of space and time... art director, king o' the road, groundskeeper, seamstress for the band.
Jez Rourke is a supermodel, superdesigner who is perfect in every way. Shawn Alexander is a great photographer and designer who smells like the ocean and has sand in her shoes.
We also have in house counsel, LawBoy, who plays guitars with us and advises us on all issues legal, moral, ethical and existential.
Music is an important part of the creative process at dinc! and since it's not a democracy, the diPOD rules. We're very specific about music that CANNOT be played inside mGLADdesign. The short list consists of music people have attempted to play and so it gets updated whenever something offensive is played.
The NO PLAY List goes something like this: NO House NO dance music!!!! NO BonJovi, NO Indigo Girls, NO LeTigre, NO Melissa Etheridge, Melissa Ferrick, in fact anyone named Melissa, NO NO NO Ani DiFranco, Bitch, Animal, either or, anything having to do with American Idol, NO folky indie droning irritating stuff without melody or irony like Ellis, Dar Williams and the whole genre, oh, Sarah McLachlan, Oh my God... Betty... please, John Mayer; The Spill Canvas who really suck...it's a long list of boring third rate crap really.
