  • Bio

Franco-US collaboration (don't see many of them these days do you?) that is well deserving of your ear. Franco-American singer Lucille combines classic jazz vocals, poetry and spoken word story telling with Fablive's hip hop production ethics that combines jazz soul and electro into a heady brew that someone like Peterson should make into a hugh success - this could be the next Portishead or Goldfrapp type crossover, without sounding anything like either of those acts. Its a great home listening experience that requires sunshine, headphones and a few ready rolled fat ones. Mastered by dave Cooley of Stones Throw fame too.

OFF THE GRID / 2010 / DISCOGRAPH /
She, Lucille Tee, born in New York, raised in Cali, lulled by the sound of 70's soul. He, FabLive, Parisian beatmaker largely influenced by DJ Shadow, J Dilla. Their sound: a mix of hip hop, nu soul, jazz, funk and breakbeat hyper irresistible. After a first album released in 2007, mastered by Stonesthrow Records (Dilla, MF Doom), the duo perform their new album live, already playlisted number #6 on KCRW, the prestigious Californian radio identifies bombs tomorrow... VIBRATIONS (June Issue /07)
Electro//Dinner At The Thompson's Lifetime On Planet Earth Earth At Work/2Good The Franco-American duo create one of the best albums of the year. For surprises, it's a surprise. A Franco-American singer and a French producer of enormous talent (a rarity) engaged in an eclectic project with a well chosen name and graphics, whose aesthetics we could situate somewhere in between Portishead and the duo formed by Herbert and his sweet-heart Dani Siciliano. It's the emphasis put on the contrast between rhythmic hip- hop beats, melodious samples and an ethereal voice that brings all the charm and efficiency to this album. In a style that we all buried too quickly, Lucille T.'s timbre, similar to that of Lizz Field, and Fablive's creativity compose an ideal urban sound, to be savoured solo or on the dance floor. Very elaborate musically, Lifetime On Planet Earth benefits all the more from having been mastered by the sound technician for Stones Throw's (Madlib's label). Even without this, the album would have been excellent. Thanks to this final touch, they stand out as one of the best albums of the year. PIERRE-JEAN CHIARELLI
