  • Bio

    Dinora Marquez is an Australian born Singer Songwriter from Sydney. She has currently co-written her three new tracks as a solo artist with Lindsay Rimes and Danielle Blakey. Her songs are a symbol of Dinora as they bring back her love for the 80's, her commitment to the beautiful sounding of the guitar, A feel of dance and fun and the deep connection to her life through her lyrics. Being a solo artist is fairly new to her as she has previously been in a duo group with her sister for many years and even experiencing a feel of what a band could bring. But Dinora still wanted to take the rollercoaster ride of the music industry and decided she will continue the path. Feeling like she's one with the stage, Dinora is not scared of being her true crazy, sexy self and will show the whole world a true artist who has learnt so much about determination, commitment and drive. She is sure to connect with the Australian/American music scene coast to coast.

         Some droplets of Classical Spaniard   We have classical registers of Spanish: our History as civilization has strong evidences before ancient Greek, so we have had that influence, Iberian and Celtic too, Roman (Latin), we also have had three Spniard Emperors: Trajanus, Adrianus, Teodosius, Byzantine, Germanic (Visigothic), Arabian, North-African, Castillian, from Aragon and French one: all those nuances and strong gifts make Spanish one of the most rich languages in the world, and it has reached its maximum even in Medieval and Renaissance Epoque, and even higher in the s. XVII century, when we were still an Empire thoughout the world in 4 continents.

    From Medieval times we have El Cid, one anonymous book from XI century, an epic novel which represents the contacts of Christian and Muslim kingdoms -a war that lasted really 8 centuries-. Charlont Heston and Sofia Loren did a film about that, but I recommend you the original book. The better researcher about this subject and this figure I know is Menéndez Pidal, you can read his essays.

    I recommend you, from that century which is often called ´the Golden Century of the Spanish language´ these authors: Cervantes -also a soldier in Lepanto, Mediterranean, battle against Turks- and his El Quijote -this book, only in lexic is at the top of richness in the world-wide Literature- and Novelas Ejemplares. You also can enjoy the poetry of Luis de Góngora y Argote but his style is dark and he alludes to mythology often. More easily is the poetry from Quevedo and Lope de Vega, two very prolific authors, of dramatic and poetic production (both were good swordsmen, the first even a spy of the crown in Venice and the second lived many adventures, loved many women and lastly he was even a religious man and a preacher after writing, only of comedies, more tha 1.500! Can you imagine?) This period (s.  XVI-XVII) the Literature was so important (the main spectacle was theatre, and classic Spanish one is amongst the most reputated, nothing to envy of English one) Calderón de la Barca is also highly recommended he was also a soldier -of the reknowed Tercios, the main spine of the Spaniard Imperial Army and the better infantry of the History before that point-: his poetry and dramatic work -you have to read La Vida es Sueño, an existentialist reflexion before the French existentialists- is one of the cenit of the Literature of this planet. I can recommend more authors, but you can commence by these Verses   Enjoy them, as sheer high Literature it is   Kisses

    SOLILOQUIOS
    (De Segismundo)

    1

    Apurar, cielos, pretendo,
    ya que me tratáis así,
    qué delito cometí
    contra vosotros naciendo;
    aunque si nací, ya entiendo
    qué delito he cometido;
    bastante causa ha tenido
    vuestra justicia y rigor,
    pues el delito mayor
    del hombre es haber nacido.

    Sólo quisiera saber,
    para apurar mis desvelos
    (dejando a una parte, cielos,
    el delito de nacer),
    ¿qué más os pude ofender
    para castigarme más?
    ¿No nacieron los demás?
    Pues si los demás nacieron
    ¿qué privilegios tuvieron
    que yo no gocé jamás?

    Nace el ave, y con las galas
    que le dan belleza suma,
    apenas es flor de pluma
    o ramillete con alas,
    cuando las etéreas salas
    corta con velocidad,
    negándose a la piedad
    del nido que deja en calma;
    y teniendo yo más alma
    ¿tengo menos libertad?

    Nace el bruto, y con la piel
    que dibujan manchas bellas,
    apenas signo es de estrellas
    -gracias al docto pincel-,
    cuando atrevido y cruel,
    la humana necesidad
    le enseña a tener crueldad,
    monstruo de su laberinto:
    ¿y yo, con mejor instinto,
    tengo menos libertad?

    Nace el pez, que no respira,
    aborto de ovas y lamas,
    y apenas bajel de escamas
    sobre las ondas se mira,
    cuando a todas partes gira,
    midiendo la inmensidad
    de tanta capacidad
    como le da el centro frío;
    ¿y yo, con más albedrío,
    tengo menos libertad?

    Nace el arroyo, culebra
    que entre flores se desata,
    y apenas, sierpe de plata,
    entre las flores se quiebra,
    cuando músico celebra
    de las flores la piedad
    que le da la majestad
    del campo abierto a su huida;
    ¿y teniendo yo más vida,
    tengo menos libertad?

    En llegando a esta pasión,
    un volcán, un Etna hecho,
    quisiera arrancar del pecho
    pedazos del corazón:
    ¿qué ley, justicia o razón
    negar a los hombres sabe
    privilegio tan suave,
    exención tan principal,
    que Dios le ha dado a un cristal,
    a un pez, a un bruto y a un ave?

    (De "La Vida es Sueño")

    2

    Sueña el rey que es rey, y vive
    con este engaño mandando,
    disponiendo y gobernando;
    y este aplauso, que recibe
    prestado, en el viento escribe,
    y en cenizas le convierte
    la muerte, ¡desdicha fuerte!
    ¿Que hay quien intente reinar,
    viendo que ha de despertar
    en el sueño de la muerte?

    Sueña el rico en su riqueza,
    que más cuidados le ofrece;
    sueña el pobre que padece
    su miseria y su pobreza;
    sueña el que a medrar empieza,
    sueña el que afana y pretende,
    sueña el que agravia y ofende,
    y en el mundo, en conclusión,
    todos sueñan lo que son,
    aunque ninguno lo entiende.

    Yo sueño que estoy aquí
    destas prisiones cargado,
    y soñé que en otro estado
    más lisonjero me vi.
    ¿Qué es la vida? Un frenesí.
    ¿Qué es la vida? Una ilusión,
    una sombra, una ficción,
    y el mayor bien es pequeño:
    que toda la vida es sueño,
    y los sueños, sueños son.
