WITH THE POWER OF THE DINOSAURS. INTO THE HORIZON WITH UNBROKEN FORCE. The Beatsteaks' energy, Hank Williams' blues, Calexico's expanses, Townes van Zandt's tragedy – put them all together and thrash them through a bavarian combine harvester, mix 'em all up with the Avett Brother's dylanesque charm, then you're as close as you can get to a description of this fine combo. Sounds simple, but nobody has reached this goal before. Maybe you have to encounter the blues on the green grassy hills of a bavarian alp in order to. And if it happens when two members of a heavy metal band and two members of a folk band meet, there's only one name for it: The Dinosaur Truckers. If you've seen them play live you'll start to sweat just by hearing their name. Their energy is contagious. Even the wussiest washouts at the bar are electrified, and in no time at all the room fills up to the rim with get up and go. All you can hope for then is that the beer supplies will do to bring energy levels down to normal. What the hell do these four guys think they're doing: Philip Bradatsch (leadvocals, banjo, guitar) Till Nissle (vocals, mandoline, guitar) Daniel Nissle (vocals, steel guitar, guitar) Tobias Hieber (vocals, upright bass) Well, this, among other things: 1. Playing a banjo doesn't necessarily mean playing country music. 2. Nobody wants to hear another song about a frontier town you've never seen and bootleg whiskey you've never drunk. 3. Raw power is still the only ingredient you need for a great live show. You can hear it in their music. Also when it isn't played live: Their first CD, published in 2008, „Songs For Homefolks", was welcomed enthusiastically by the press („The result: excellent!" - Melodie & Rhythmus 11/08), yet unfortunately it's already out of stock and only to be had for outrageous cash on the black market. Their second CD, though, is still to be found on the shelves of assorted dealers specializing in sound carriers. And once again the praise from the music press is unison: „Down This Road (2009) – „One of the highlights in 2009" (5 out of 5, Dynamite Magazine 06/09). In the spring of 2012, The Dinosaur Truckers have visited the studio for a third go at an album yet to be named. Release is scheduled for autumn 2012. Until then every chance should be taken to experience the four jurassic juggernaut pilots live: Every gig (more than 100 in 2011) forces steaming atmo, hypnotic high speed sounds, dozens of snapped strings, dripping sweat, superhuman thirst and the awareness that unfathomable landscapes, infinite expanses and the only true folk bluegrass rock heaven are just a door away. www.dinosaurtruckers.de www.facebook.com/dinosaurtruckers www.reverbnation.com/thedinosaurtruckers www.myspace.com/dinosaurtruckers what the press says: Pistol Pete and his band mates from Germany play a mean mix of original country and bluegrass-inspired songs. They feature percussive, driving bass rhythms, tight mandolin and guitar solos, harmonizing voices and a relaxed but compelling vibe. The wonderful lap steel playing on the album proves they know where they are in country music. (Folkworld 07/2010).. ..Wow! Hier eines der Highlights 2009. Wer auf American Roots Music, Bluegrass und Blues steht muss hier zugreifen. (...) Alle fünf Musiker sind Meister an ihren Instrumenten. (Dynamite Magazine Nr. 6 2009).. (Countryjukebox 2009)....
