*A car accident resulted with the formation of the band Direc-t in 1997. The godfather of the band's name
Direc-t (post in Turkish) was a post that they crashed into.
The members of the band at that time decided to stick with the name Direc-t as it was appealing to the bands
English and Turkish songs.
*Ozgur joins the band in 1999.
*Alex joins the band in 2000.
*Direc-t wins the first music award in 2001 at the Roxy Music Awards.(the most important alternative music contest in Turkey)
*In 2002 the band opened up for David Byrne, Pulp, Sneaker Pimps and Carl Cox at the Alternative Festival in Istanbul.
*In 2002 they play on demo stage at H2000 festival.
*In 2003 they play a show on the main stage at H2000 festival.
*In 2003 Direc-t signs a contract with On-Air Productions and they record their first studio album with Deniz Ylmaz (Kurban)
contributing as the producer. The first album ''Rus Kozmonatlar'' is released in June 2004 with 10 Turkish and one English song.
*The band shoots the first video from ''Rus Kozmonatlar'' to the song "Dur Sakn Konuma" and then to "Hasret" and "Ama Sen Varsn" songs. And they have been on music charts of Turkish music channels for a long time.
*The video of "Ama Sen Varsn" as an animated video catches a lot of attention from the public.
*In 2004 the band performs for the Rock Istanbul Festival which is broadcasted live from Dream TV.
*In July 2004, Direc-t performed at the Pohoda Festival in Slovakia and assumes the title of the first Turkish band have ever performed in Slovakia.
*In 2004 Direc-t plays a benefit show for the Tsunami victims in South Asia at Yedi Kule Zindanlar (Dungeons of Yedikule) in Istanbul.
*In 2005 Direc-t starts touring with the Fanta Genlik Festvali (Fanta Youth Festival) which includes 17 cities all over Turkey.
*In 2005 the band makes an appearance on the main stage of the Rock Istanbul Festival.
*In addition, Direc-t performs in many bars in Istanbul such as Line, Kemanc, Life Bar, Bronx, Gitar Bar, Vox, Yeni Melek Gsteri
Merkezi (Yeni Melek Show Center), Stdyo Live and also in other cities such as Ooze Bar (Izmir), Saklkent (Ankara),Bar Fly (Ankara) and Doors (Eskisehir). The band also appears as musical guest at various University and High School Festivals (German High School, Ereli Anatolian High School) all over Turkey.
*In 2005 Direc-ts second studio album 'Olympos' was released in Turkey 1.5 English and 9.5 Turkish songs are in the album.
*The band has made a video for first single from the album "Rambo"
*In 2005 a song by Direc-t has been released in a Turkish compilation in Russia and Ukraine.
*One Direc-t song has been a finalist in december's round of the "Song of the Year-2005" contest.
*The band has shot a video for "Ama Askim Yok" from the album "Olympos" --n 2006.
* A Direc-t song called "20 ways" has been released in a compilation called Have You Heard-2 in Australia by Starving Kids Records
*Band has played live in Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati 2007 and in Mo Pitkins Club-East Village NY
