Directors Circle Theater's Interests
|
| General | Plays, whether they are new, favorite classics, cutting edge, experimental,comedy, tragedy, drama, or whatever. Finding new talent, either on-stage or in the wings. | | Music | Showtunes, of course. | | Books | Mostly scripts. Some recent examples include: "Hush Up, Sweet Charlotte", "Blood Relations", "Die, Mommy, Die!". Some upcoming works: "Drama Queens" (a premier in this area), "The Mummy and the Armadillo", and "The Heidi Chronicles". | | Heroes | The people who have the guts to write the plays. The people that have the guts to perform them, especially when they give up their time as unpaid community actors. The directors, AD's, tech people and crew who make a show run. And, last but not least, Michael Weiss, who has made it all possible and given most of us our first shot. |

Directors Circle Theater's Blurbs |
About me:
This is the myspace page for The Director's Circle Theater, in Erie, PA. This is a theater run by Michael Weiss, an accomplished actor and director who worked in Holloywood for many years before returning to Erie to open his own space. The current theater is located on the 2nd floor of the Renaissance Center at 10th and State Streets. Productions are year-round and include British mysteries, comedy/farces, dramas, musicals, world premiers and a variey of other genres. New actors are always welcome and are encouraged to audition whenever possible. Watch this space as well as the Erie Times-News Showcase for audition dates and times.

Who I'd like to meet:
Any local actors, especially in the Erie area. Any newbies interested in having a go at treading the boards. Fans and supporters of live, community theater. Playwrights who would be interested in producing their work. New and/or seasoned directors, assistant directors, stage hands, etc and volunteers who like to, ABOVE ALL, have fun.
