Dirk (born in 1975) plays the organ since he was 9 years old. At the age of 12 he won the German Technics-Organ-Festival. Later he studied jazz organ with John Hondorp at the Conservatory Enschede in the Netherlands. He followed masterclasses from Alberto Marsico, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Larry Goldings (his great idol), Joey Defrancesco and workshops from the Berklee College Of Music.
After he finished his studies, he played together with Nippy Noya and Dave King in the Debbie-Sister-Sledge-Band. Since 2003, he works on stage as organ and keyboard player with different jazz-ensembles and popbands. Furthermore, he works at different music schools as teacher for keyboards and music production.

jeden 1. und 3. Dienstag - neue Jazzsession in Dortmund
Mit Beginn von Februar 2010 gibt es in Dortmund eine neue Jazzreihe mit Session. Unter dem Titel "Tuesday Jazz" gibt es im Cafe Einstein/Trödler, Josephstr. 21, Dortmund ab 20:00 zunächst ein Set einer jeweils unterschiedlichen Opener-Band, danach ist ab ca. 21 Uhr Session für alle, die gern Jazz spielen. Eintritt frei, Instrumente bitte mitbringen!
