After a self-imposed musical exile, Dirk makes his long awaited return with "LIFE IS NOW".
A multi-format album of genre defiance. Blending the metal crunch and attitude from his former life as lead singer of HITTMAN, along with passionate piano and orchestra, shades of cabaret, theater and gospel. The songs make no apologies for their ambition.
Written and recorded in his apartment in Long Island City. Dirk wrote the bulk of the songs by himself and some with his sometime musical soulmate Khalid Superstar. Together they played almost all the instruments except for a few guest appearences from close friends Adrian(drums on 6 tracks) and Colin ( Acoustic Guitar & Bass on I don't know love) from (MRNORTH) and Jim Bacchi(HITTMAN, FUZZBUBBLE) bass on The Story Of My Life........
Wearing the hats of writer, performer, producer and engineer, the process of making "LIFE IS NOW" took Dirk almost three years to realize and the result is staggering.

I have tears in my eyes when reading this :-((( I know how much you..ve loved your girl Dinga and your boy Glaucus... and I still remember your loss of your first buddy Micky... we talked over the phone right after he passed away and we both were so sad... But remember: all animals you..ve ever had, had the best time of their lives being with you, being your companion for their whole lives... they had the best lives they could ever have and WE have the best time that we are allowed to share our time with such great beings around us! And Dinga was 17, wow... Sammy is 12 years, 4 month now - I hope to be with her for a long time more... I am really sad with you and wanna hug you virtually, I hope this is o.k. for now ;-) I can feel your pain and know how it is to loose our loved ones: if it..s human beings or animal beings... but our love for them will never die! I wish you all the best and hope that your cats Murray and Bruce stay healthy for a long time!
