FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 25, 2010 Contact: Scott Dennis dirtfloorrevue@gmail.com Dirt Floor Revue: Dirt Floor Revue Brooklyn country heavyweights release acclaimed debut album NEW YORK— Dirt Floor Revue announces the release of its self-titled debut album. Dirt Floor Revue takes listeners on a veritable roadmap of highways and byways featuring tales of riverboat gamblers, soul-searchers, cowboys of the leper and Coca-Cola ilk, spurned lovers and weary wisdom-givers. The album's release will help further expand Dirt Floor Revue's reputation beyond the Brooklyn and New York City country music scenes where the band has made its reputation. Dirt Floor Revue, which was recorded in bandleader and producer Scott Dennis's Cambridge Place Studios, features 13 songs with five penned by Dennis ("Highway Run," "I Love Her So," "Frying Pan," "Bergen County Baby" and "600 Miles," which is a co-write with his wife Marissa), three written by pedal steel maestro Glenn Spivack ("Gambler's Lament," "27 West" and "Wisdom of a Fool"), one by Telecaster-slinging Matt Philips ("Leper's Rodeo) and one by Chris Adams ("80 on 80"), who plays bass in the quintet. The album is also graced with three cover tunes, the honky tonk taunt of Mel Tillis' "Coca-Cola Cowboy," a country-soul take on The Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down" and a cranked up version of Bob Dylan's "She Belongs to Me," which is propelled by drummer Kain Naylor's dirty funk backbeat. Early reviews of Dirt Floor Revue sing its, and the band's, praises. BrooklynCountry.com, which is ground zero for the Brooklyn country music scene, says: "Dirt Floor Revue has proven they have the talent, vision, and musicality associated with and representative of Brooklyn Country. Dirt Floor Revue—an inspiration to a fledgling country music scene." Dirt Floor Revue has full digital distribution and is available at retail outlets including iTunes, CD Baby and DigStation.com. About Dirt Floor Revue Dirt Floor Revue earned its reputation based on its sweaty, raucous live shows at a number of venues throughout the New York City metro area. The band germinated its sound and built its chops in the Brooklyn country scene, which is ripe with a range of classic country, honky tonk and rockabilly sounds. As the band's reputation has grown around the metro area, it has played a host of New York City's most reputable honky tonks and bars, including Hill Country, Rodeo Bar, Piano's, Banjo Jim's, The National Underground, and Kenny's Castaways. The band consists of Scott Dennis (acoustic guitar and vocals), Glenn Spivack (pedal steel, resophonic guitar, harmonica and vocals), Matt Phillips (electric guitar and vocals), Chris Adams (bass and vocals) and Kain Naylor (drums).
