it started as an experiment in what i called "propoganda," drawing pictures, spreading rumors of disinformation about nothing at all, and the idea that art exists in revolution and revolution exists in art. there is no organization, no plan, these things exist in the temporary and soon fall away to ruin and the whims that exist in the creative minds of people. disorganization and chaos, this is where DIRTWAR exists. the concept of moment is what dominates the mind and also the heart. there is no beginning and there is no end, even at the start of an event, it was still started by something before it. art and the creative experience is never complete and cannot be defined by where it began or end up, it is an evolution of experience, reflection, and a constant movement of inspirations building on itself, and artists in any trade wishing to build on what has come before. there are no boundaries, no restraints, it is clean, disorganized, imperfect, and sometimes perfect in its moment. "extasy affords the occasion and expedience determines the form." DIRTWAR is free and will continue to exist in the fray, the unclear, in the gravel patch on the side of the road between concrete and grass.
we work on DIRTWAR like an old hotrod in our garage, replacing and machining parts to make the thing faster than it already is. in the night, we drive it on the highway when the rest of the world is sleeping. we hold the road with the loanstars and the ever expanse of concrete and steel that lay ahead under the lights.
DIRTWAR hopes to become a lounge act someday and play a regular show in a small lounge with red velvet couches, mahogany walls, complimentary cigarettes and whiskey, and a sparse crowd dedicated to the night who only the bartender knows by name.
I had no idea Dirtwar was so mello.... I was expecting some kind of roudy punk but got a whole new perspective.....
I chilled out in my hot tub all irie last nite jammin out to my new disc... LOVED IT!...
Thanks for the tunes.... I hope my music wasn't too different for you to dig... If you listen to the last jam in the disc i gave you, which is just rough draft you might feel a better connection in style.
I think your voice is soulful.... But if you ever need a harmony or back up I would be stoked to work with you!
man, the monkey is such a great place for dirtwar. I wish i would be there too. I'm running a 10K in Boulder CO that day, maybe I'll run with dirtwar bumpin in my headphones in honor of the premiere performance.
