Dirtyfake - Shallow depths

It's called "Shallow Depths" the Dirtyfake’s new EP, recorded at Hombrelobo Studio in Rome and produced by Fabio Recchia and the band.

After having denounced the illusion of a society that has stopped on the threshold of the future to look back, the Dirtyfake come back to tell with the new work: "Shallow Depths" oxymoronic approach between what is deep and the superficial, aiming to represent a modern framework for chaos and playing with the concepts of height and surface. A conceptual geometry of our time. Among the songs you feel tired echoes of press releases from the titles and content agents, capable of describing the "low moral character" of a country. But there is also the superficiality of fashion, the network, of culture. A lack of depth in a backwater that floats in a perpetual low tide. And it is the desire to stand out and to shake off reality dying that should push a new reflection, to the sharpness. A new depth. Shallow Depths is planning an alternative rock that tries to dig in, and scream too loud a solitude.

Who are you?

Dirtyfake started playing together at the end of the 90s. Their first acoustic and dark approach to sound turned rapidly into an incisive Indie rock.From the beginning the band was influenced by both American Indie rock and English mainstream New wave. Dirtyfake is formed by: Byron, Andy, Simo, Valentina and Kris.The name Dirtyfake is the union of the most emblematic words from the beginning of the new millennium. Fake (in the meaning given by Debord and La societé du spectacle) that has deeply penetrated society; and dirty as dirty business and politics which are taking humanity towards a premature ending.The name Dirtyfake is also clear controversy to the last musical productions of the major record producers who pretend to supply an alternative. Dirtyfake matured musically playing all over Italy.Their lyrics talk about isolation, heartbreak, inadequacy, visions.

I Dirtyfake nascono ufficialmente a Roma nel 1998, dalle ceneri di alcuni progetti musicali maturati durante gli anni novanta. Cominciano con sonorita' acustiche e dark per passare rapidamente all'indie-rock elettrico. Influenzati dall'indie-rock di matrice americana e contaminati dalla wave inglese i Dirtyfake proseguono la loro ricerca sonora spostandosi di genere in genere pur mantenendo la loro identità. Attualmente la band è formati da cinque elementi: Byron, Andy, Valentina, Simo e Kris. Tra poesia e pessimismo i Dirtyfake raccontano il loro disincanto e la loro illusione, esplorano gli abissi dell'animo umano e contemplano la decadenza del mondo esterno, ispirandosi alle teorie di filosofi come Popper, Debord, McLuhan.
