Dirty Freq’s – Short for Dirty Frequencies, Is a Drum & Bass night held on the third Saturday of each month, at The Town Mill in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
The first event was held on the 17th February 2007 and started out as a small night which catered for Breaks, Dubstep Hip-Hop and Drum and bass and was run by Chris Short (Shorty).
Shortly after the night began Daniel Seward (Hoax) and Phil Innes (Jungleman) became involved and the music policy changed to Drum & Bass for the main part of the night and various other styles for the first hour. The night offered (and still does) a music policy that no other event or venue in Mansfield could, an electric atmosphere, cheap entry fee and some of the Drum & Bass scenes biggest and best DJ’s alongside the best in local and up and coming talent.
The night had its ups and downs for the first year but since the start of 2008 has gone from strength to strength and has now built up a very good following and also provides a place where the people of Mansfield can enjoy Drum & Bass as an alternate to Pop, R&B, Dance etc in a good venue.
