| About Dirty Knobs |
Just uploaded a ton of new/old music, including both my own original songs and a few remixes. Here's the run down:
The Surfactants "The One, The Wayward": This is one from my band The Surfactants, in which I write the songs, do some of the recording and all of the final editing and mastering. This is one of the songs I'm most proud of, both for the writing and the recording. It's a bit of a different sound for the band, being more laid-back and poppy, but I love it. I hope you do too.
Dirty Knobs "Hell On Skates (featuring Haley Bonar)": This is another original from me. I asked my friend Haley Bonar to provide some vocals, and she did an amazing job (as expected.) Haley has gone on to do some pretty great things, so it was an honor to work with her.
Low "Monkey (Dirty Knobs' Dirty Monkey Remix)": This is a remix of the song "Monkey" from the band Low. I've done a few things with them. We live in the same town and float around in the same musical circles. Obviously they are massively popular and have done some really amazing things (playing with Radiohead, for instance), so it's a super huge honor to have worked with them.
The Dames "Embryonic Recapitulation (Dirty Knobs' Mitochondrial Revolution Remix)": This one is off of my Dirty Knobs vs Duluth, Minnesota remix collection, featuring, obviously, a bunch of remixes I did of local Duluth artists. The song was already pretty heavy, so I just turned it up and made it into the best Ministry-esque song I could.
Xero Products "Sliver Moon": This is one of my early tracks, back when I was still doing trance stuff. Not much to say here, other than I'm very very happy with the way it turned out. A bit primitive because I had very little equipment to work with. That's exactly why I'm so happy with it. Plus it's just a nice song, don't you think?
Xero Products "Take 'em to Mars (Escape!)": Another early track. This was directly inspired by Bradbury's Martian Chronicles and even samples a bit of the audio book. It's the soundtrack to the massive sci-fi epic in my head. Again, it's very primitive but I still really like the string sections.
Thanks for listening!

You can now buy all of our music via iTunes and Amazon!
This "new" album is actually just our first two mini-albums mashed into one amazing new package. You can now get both of our albums in one shot for $9.99 on iTunes and $8.99 on Amazon, or just buy the songs you like and forget the rest. Whatever works for you.
This was all made possible by TuneCore, a very slick music service that does a lot of the work for you. Obviously we highly recommend it to anyone trying to sell their music.
So, for love of everything, tell your friends. Thank you.

There have been some MASSIVE updates to TheSurfactants.com! Make sure to check it out for a ton of free music and all the up-to-the-second updates. Please check out my band The Surfactants here on MySpace. Dirty Knobs is taking a break, but I'd still love to do some remixes if you want 'em. Also: TheSurfactants.com I write music, mostly with electronic synthetics, but sometimes I clap and bang on things. Sometimes I sing. Most of the songs are about pets or falling down or superstrings or evil black stuff. I've done a few remixes for wonderful artists like Low and Haley Bonar and The Dames and Amy Abts and more. They are better than I at the singing and the clapping. I used to play records for large groups of people who would dance. I once played my records alongside Moby and Hybrid. That was good. In addition to mostly not writing music as Dirty Knobs, I play for The Surfactants. You can find more music and more words at Xero Music dot com. Thank you for your attention.
