It has been over 4 years now that Dirty Maria exploded onto Toronto's thriving rock music scene. The members of Dirty Maria have forged their unique sound by fusing the different styles that influence them to make their sound edgy, sexy and definitely latin. The band, like Toronto represents a hybrid mix of cultures.: Mexico Argentina, Colombia and Panama. Dirty Maria have attracted a large local fan base who enjoy the group's high-energy, dance-till-you drop performances. Dirty Maria first gained fame locally as winners of the Toronto LAMC conference in 2005. They have appeared on the Omni 2 TV series Metropia and as guests on various programs on TLN and they have been nominated for a Toronto Independent Music Award in 2008.
Dirty Maria have played locally at famed Toronto clubs such as the Horseshoe Tavern, El Mocambo and the Opera House, where they opened for Grammy-winning band, Kinky. They were recently working on new material while in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Currently they are working on their next album while playing some summer shows.
Hace mas de 4 años Dirty Maria emergio en la escena musical de Toronto. Su fusion musical de funky-latin-rock se debe a sus raices y sus diferentes gustos musicales. Gracias a su sonido original han podido atraer a un gran numero de fans que han sido capturado por su contagiosa energia en el escenario, la cual los hace pararse cantar y bailar hasta la ultima nota. Dirty Maria saborio sus primeros momentos de fama al ganar el Latin Alternative Music Conference (2004) Battle of the Bands. A partir de ese momento han llenado su calendario con toques en los antros mas reconocidos de Toronto como Horseshoe Tavern, Hard Rock Cafe, Opera House y otros. En su recorrer han podio participar en diferentes programas en TV local y a nivel nacional en una serie canadiense llamado Metropia. Tambien han compartido el stage con bandas como Kinky, Mexican Standoff, Maryjane, Ashlee. Han ganadao reconocimiento siendo nominados para un premio de musica independiente en Toronto (Toronto Independent Music Awards) en el genero de World Music 2007 y otra nominacion en 2008.
Ahora durante la preparacion de su segundo album Dirty Maria sigue intrigado y ansioso por ver cuan amplio son sus horizontes.
