About me: Dirty Martini is a story about a small time gambler named Nate McGregor who's offered a chance to manage a casino in the Caribbeans as well as become a partner if he can come up with a seventy-five thousand dollar buy-in. The only thing standing in his way are two of the closest people to him - Alexis, his long time girlfriend struggling to escape an abusive marriage to a very rich banker and Mitch, his con artist best friend from college that owes one of the city’s meanest bookies thirty grand.
In his pursuit for happiness and freedom, Nate is convinced by Mitch to pull off a heist that will be the answer to all of their problems, but involves tainting Alexis’ husband’s favorite drink - a dirty martini - and then robbing him blind all through a well thought out, methodical scheme. The plan backfires when things spin out of control, bodies begin turning up dead and Nate becomes the target of a murderous crime boss as well as a murder investigation.
Dirty Martini was shot on a Panasonic HVX-200 at 720/24p. Casting for the film began in November 2007 and official production began in February 2008 and wrapped in late November 2008. The editing and post production work will be done using the latest version of Final Cut Pro Studio, Adobe After Effects and Pro Tools.
