About Dirty Mittens

There are plenty of pop bands in Portland, plenty of bands who know a good hook and can turn a good melody, sure. Nobody -- but nobody -- pushes the boundaries of pop so expertly in this town. Dirty Mittens are sweet (yes) and twinkly (sometimes), and singer Chelsea Morrissey's voice will remind you instantly of a holy mishmosh of some of The Greats, but there's somehow even more here than meets the eye. There are expertly 60's girl group synths, campfire anthem shouts, and guitar and horn licks that harken as much from the Talking Heads as from the MG's. The result is mystery-magical-oh so wonderful. - Hannah, Spectre Entertainment

I usually post at least a song or two from most shows on blip.tv BUT if you want a copy of what I shot then send me a message and I'll give you the run down on file formats and whatnot. Seems I'm always pretty backlogged on posts and some bands fall through the cracks but this was just way too good....so it's on the short list!

This makes since with some of the "bigger" musicians they have through but really do they expect every jackass with a camera to get venue permission? How militant is the security at this place?
