   Dirty Mob's Blurbs
About me:
As part of the new generation of Australian contemporary hip-hop, it’s Dirty Mob’s love of this genre, fused with their sense of individuality and style that is set to take them to the next level. Though bound by their love of REAL hip-hop, Dirty Mob’s music has more of a commercial flow to it, but it is undeniably raw, honest and fun. Their style has obvious American influences, however Dirty Mob are keeping suit to progressing Australian hip-hop by keeping their Australian flavor, making it easy for young people to relate to the subject matter. After more than seven years of writing, recording and performing together, a collaboration with Australian Hip Hop veteran producer/dj/mc, el Loco [Ghetto Pitch Productions] was more than likely and Dirty Mob finally came up with the goods with the release of their EP 'the entre' as a taste test (hence the name), which sold over 1500 copies in Brisbane. The sounds of Dirty Mob feature a fruition of smooth melodies and funky flows, a bouncy blend of beats and of course hard edged rhymes. With an incredible and sometimes mischievous range of tracks, writing about club hopping, girls and summertime in Queensland, there is definetly some ass-shaking bangers that will silence all doubters of Australian Hip Hop. Dirty Mob have now gone further and have caught the appeal of other local artists and industry professionals. So much so that they are a feature on the hugely successful RnB and Hip Hop compilation, Blazin 4, appear on recording artist Kyle’s new single ‘Turn it up’ (Warners), and also feature on the album from Lethbridge (Australian Idol’s Levi). The recent successes of Dirty Mob’s recordings and live shows at some of Queenslands premier hip-hop hot spots, events and concerts signify what is bound to be the start of huge things for the young brothers. Performing alongside a host of local and international talent, if Dirty Mob are going to name drop, there really is no need for discretion when it comes to artists like 50 cent/G Unit/Obie Trice, Kelis, Busta Rhymes and Bone Thugs n Harmony for whom Dirty Mob have headlined as a support act. When it comes to listing their achievements, Dirty Mob need not be shy of their obvious appeal. Recently signed, to Legit Music, the mould has been set and from the sounds of their tracks and the explosive energy they bring to every live performance, Dirty Mob are obviously not just another manufactured Hip-Hop ensemble. They’ve done their rounds both in and out of the studio and can definitely hold their own when it comes to having real street cred and talent in what is clearly a very tough scene in which to define a new act. As Dirty Mob record their new album (due mid year 2006), they have promised to continue to deliver a huge array of new school tracks that are bound to make people in this country stand up, take notice and shake their booty to the sounds of Dirty Mob. It’s this kind of attitude and talent that is sure to quickly push OP & Shorty and Dirty Mob to the forefront of the Australian Hip Hop Scene.
