The Orchestra In-stabile Dis/Accordo [O.I.D.] is a variable ensemble of fifteen elements, germinating spontaneously within the MiKalsa Bar. The Orchestra stems from the expressive urgency of a new generation of improvisers, looking for a creative form crossing all languages and not necessarily falling under any label. The improvised, multimedia conductors are the very members of the orchestra, who experiment all possible expressive means with an unconventional approach, to put on stage an orchestral experience which involves the listener in a continuously evolving and unique musical event.
The O.I.D. was founded by Luca Lo Bianco, Francesco Guaiana, and Lorenzo Quattrocchi, and its performances are inspired by contemporary methods of collective improvisation. The energy generated during its concerts comes from an intense and straightforward communication, introducing the audience to the most innovative stances of the Sicilian musical scene, which is too often identified with traditional and folk stereotypes as the only exportable asset. The O.I.D. effect has spread quickly: other projects have followed in its footsteps, other artists have found new strength and courage, and the Orchestra has become a reality in the cultural life of the city. This isn’t just a way of playing – this is a way of thinking and relating to others. This is movement.

L’Orchestra In-stabile Dis/accordo [O.I.D.] è un organico variabile di circa quindici elementi. Nasce per germinazione spontanea all’interno del MiKalsa Bar, dando forma all’urgenza espressiva di una nuova generazione di improvvisatori, convinti della necessità di una proposta creativa aperta a tutti i linguaggi, non necessariamente etichettabile. Una “conduction” estemporanea e multimediale gestita dagli stessi musicisti dell’organico che, sperimentando tutti i mezzi espressivi a disposizione, attraverso un approccio non convenzionale, mettono in atto una pratica orchestrale che coinvolge l’ascoltatore in un evento musicale originale in continuo divenire. Le performances dell’Orchestra, fondata da Luca Lo Bianco, Francesco Guaiana, and Lorenzo Quattrocchi, si ispirano ai metodi contemporanei e alle pratiche di improvvisazione collettiva. L’energia che nasce dai concerti è frutto di una comunicazione intensa e diretta, un modo per far conoscere la parte più innovativa della cultura musicale legata alla Sicilia, troppo spesso assimilata agli stereotipi del folk e della tradizione come unico aspetto esportabile. L’effetto O.I.D. si è propagato rapidamente, altri progetti sono nati sulla sua scia, altri artisti hanno preso coraggio e vigore, ed è per questo che l’Orchestra è diventata una realtà nella vita culturale della città. Non è solo un modo di suonare, è un modo di pensare, un modo di relazionarsi, è movimento.

Grazie ragazzi dell'add. questi martedì al Mikalza mi hanno davvero intrigato, l'esperienza con i musicisti dell'orchestra è molto interessante e aspetto martedì prossimo per potermi affiancare con il mio clarinetto basso.
