Led by songwriter Andrea Sicco (also singer and guitarist with My Happy Gun), AS & The Disappearing Act rises from the ashes of Oscura, a cult band from New York City that existed for some time through some intense and turbulent years and disappeared, just in time.
The new outfit, appropriately named Andrea Sicco & The Disappearing Act (the latter being the occasional guest performer/musician), presents a more somber, if not minimal, approach to the music. Songs that ranges from moody dark balladry, to decadent and romantic (if not romanticized) views on life and people. Songs about dreaming, drug induced philosophizing, murder, suicide, food, strange relationships, sex with aliens and violence but most of all about love and hate, are the recurrent themes of his tormented but ever changing universe.
