Discordia was founded in 2001. After several changes in personnel the debut album line-up was formed in early 2006.
The two remaining founding members Antti Tolkki (guitar) and Petri Sallinen (bass) consider the current line-up as the tightest and most innovative in the band history.
Other members Otto Mäkelä (drums), Liisa Lipas (keyboards) and Tero Väänänen & Riikka Hänninen (vocals) share the original idea of combining ambitious yet enjoyable musical elements with forceful performance.
The newest member of the band is Hannu Hiltula (also the member of Viima), who became Discordia’s new lead vocalist in February 2008 after Tero and Riikka left the band.
