i have always loved to write. i love to write songs, creative works, letters, anything really. i love being outdoors and the natural beauty of this world astonishes me. being up when the sun rises near mt. hood is stunning. it reminds me of the new day i have come to and the hardships i have overcome as the sun rises above the mountain and into the sky. that being said i love the mountains and forests. one day i hope to travel more of this earth and explore its wonders. i like everything about the rain.
i drink a lot of tea and coffee. sitting in a quiet coffee shop or café is lovely. i take a number of photograhs, film mostly. i find bike rides and long walks enjoyable. i try and surround myself with genuine, kind, and caring people. i am a vegetarian. i like reading a good book. i also like supporting non-profit organizations. i like to learn about social justice and do my part in volunteering and being involved.
Music
i have always loved music. i love listening to it, writing it, and playing it. not that i play much. musicians who are able to be complex and simplistic amaze me. most of my tastes consist of genres in between "indie", rock, and folk music. i'm not much into the bands on the radio or those that are popular. if a band i likes gets on the radio though, then congrats to them. i don't exactly have a list of my favorite bands, but my favorite is the starting line. i also listen to the sounds of nature, rain, and "music from the mountains".
i don't quite watch as many movies as i used to but here are some i enjoy: almost famous. american beauty. american history x. about me: i don't see myself as these words you are about to read. i can barely explain myself in words at all. i cannot express myself clearly out loud. i find it easier to get it written down on paper. i cannot be straightforward about it either. i find it easy to use literary devices to convey my thoughts. so if you are reading this just know that you may not understand it because i make a mess of my words when trying to be clear and precise.
i don't find myself to be simple. i always believe i think too much or over think things. i find myself pondering things and filtering through my thoughts on a daily basis. most of the time this is at night because i am just not one to be able to get to sleep early. contrary to that, i really like to sleep. i find it hard to get out what i am trying to say sometimes. some days i wish i could say everything and you or someone else could understand. i never plan to jumble my words but sometimes i am not in control of them. somethings i am just not in control of.
but i am in control of how i shape my life and the path i take. i know it will be dark at times. sometimes it's those tender moments that are painstakingly raw. they are so real, open wounds in which we are afraid to heal. we are afraid to touch them for they will sting and hurt. but we are to naïve to know that we need to hurt and feel pain. we need to see dark before we can see light. it may seem we are only falling further but if we just stood up maybe we’d learn to walk away from this all. our wounds will heal in time, and our feelings will change. for now we just need to not be afraid of what comes, what knocks us down, and accept what pulls us back up. even when we have to do it ourselves sometimes. the light will come. all we have to do is know there is hope and we will get there. we are not alone. we slowly become one in the same.
i have embraced myself and my life in my community. i have general excitement about being involved. as a college student there is a lot do on my campus and i don't take any steps back. only forward. sometimes i feel like i am taking on more than i can handle but in the end i find everything to be worth it. i cannot let the stress along the way get to me or bring me down. i work hard to help educate people on important issues going on in our world today. i find the experience so gratifying. i am truly interested in volunteering and being involved. i am interested in social justice, humanitarianism, and the quality of life for all. i believe we have the right to a good life; it is not a privilege. i think we need to stand up and dong something in our lives. it is important to act now and in this day and age we can make a change. we just need to use our voices and make that difference. we need to make movements.
i am writing less these days than i used to and i am quite frustrated with that. i find it harder to find time to get ideas out these days than before. i am making more time though. i have an idea for a screenplay that one day i may write. i also want to write a book but i am not sure how to go about doing so. a good friend of mine recently wrote his first book and i am eager to read it. for now i will just focus on school work and volunteering while making time to write when i can. along with this i am going to make more time to read. if only i just had more time.
i am pretty sure of what i want to do with my life. i know that can change in an instant but i have some idea. i am studying communication, specifically journalism (major), english, and fine arts (these latter two are minors). one day i hope to write for some literary publication. maybe i'll just be a writer myself. my fine arts minor brings in my photography interest as well. journalism is the structured writing and my english minor i am focusing on creative writing forms. someday i plan to travel so i cannot say that this path i am on will always stay the same. being interested in social justice adds more to this and makes the turns in my path even more evident and frequent. i am finding my way though and plan to keep moving forward and accept and understand whatever lies ahead.
i am not sure where all of this leads me. i am not sure if this explains myself at all. but i wrote it out here. maybe someone can relate because i feel connecting with others is one thing which keeps us together in this world. i find myself at ease around those who understand and relate. i don't feel i have figured myself out yet and i don't feel you can know so much about a person in this small electronic space. but you are welcome to learn more and start up a conversation. i want to meet new people and learn new things and see new places. i am not sure if starting off here will do it but it's worth something. maybe we can all learn something from this.
i find life to be changing, just as we are changing with it. everything changes as it stays the same. everything ends where it begins.

I'm doing good, thanks for asking. :) Applying for colleges are a pain but something we have to do. I'm applying to UoP! I'm sending in the app on Monday I believe. I'm also applying to Seattle U, Seattle Pacific, PSU, Pacific, Regis, UH/UH Hilo, and Chaminade. Senior year is going great; best year yet! :D Been hanging out with friends, going to parties, all that good stuff.
