Disgorged were Rochester's own perveyors of brutality, consisting of Adam Bonacci/Vocals, Chris Burgio/Gituars,Growls, Ron Cortese/Gituars, Mike Donnelly/Bass, and Dave Culross/Drums. During their reign of terror from 1990 to 1995 there was no other band like them in Upstate New York, and there never will be. Brutal riffing by cousins Ron and Chris, sick vocals by Adam, brutal bass playing by Mike, and the untouchable drumming by Dave made them a hard act to follow. Only releasing the demo " Breed for me " and the EP " Thy Hideous Wake ", they were well on their way to leaving a brutal and vicious mark on the metal scene of the era. Many bands have tried to emulate the brutality that was Disgorged, and have fallen well short of the black and blue mark they left on metal. The lyrics by Chris were beautiful in their monstrous and menacing imagery. Painting mental pictures that would make the holocaust pale in comparison, Ron gave them fitting riffs that were the very sounds of the apocolypse. Incredible drumming by Dave and Mike's thick and brutal bass playing topped off the mix. Disgorged was the yardstick that all other Rochester grindcore/deathmetal bands would be measured by to this day. I myself recorded " Breed for Me " and was impressed by how in one take they could spell out the sickness they wanted to achieve, and would set the stage for their only studio release " Thy Hideous Wake". Even if only four songs it was grindcore personified, in it's most true and unforgiving form. Opening up for many national acts, ( too many to list here ) they were well on their way to being one of the best grindcore bands of their era. Sadly in 1995 they split, with Dave moving on to Malevolent Creation/Suffocation, Mike moving on to appear with Incantation, Adam, Ron, and Chris picked up the shattered remains to form Withered Earth. Many people including myself have wondered what would have happened if only they would have put out a full length. But it was both a privlage and pleasure to behold a star that had shined so brightly. Withered Earth met it's demise as well, and Adam went on to Baba Yaga, and also appeared with Chris, Dan Lilker (Nuclear Assault, The Ravenous, Crucifist, Brutal Truth, ex-Exit-13, ex-Harter Attack, ex-Hemlock (US), ex-Holy Moses, ex-Redrum (US), ex-Stormtroopers of Death, ex-White Heat, Extra Hot Sauce, Human Garbage, Venomous Concept, ex-Anthrax) and Lee Fisher in Overlord Exterminator. Disgorged may be gone but never will be forgotten, and live on through the various bands and projects they persue now as individuals. I would like to thank them for the friendship and good times had, yes the memories still remain, and will never die or fade with time. If you never heard them now is your chance, if you did then you can enjoy this dark space created in tribute of one of the best bands you were fortunate enough to see.
