Around 1979, Vancouver’s The Dishrags started getting somewhat known after appearing on a few west coast compilations. They then released their debut album 'Past Is Past'. Originally a three-piece, the band added second guitarist Sue MacGillivray, and Dale Powers was replaced by bassist Kim Henrikson. This new line-up produced an EP in 1980 called 'Death In The Family'.
Their song “I Don’t Love You” was later covered by Toronto punk band, The Spazmz sometime in the mid-1990s.
