Hailing from Austin, TX, Distant Lights is a five piece progressive art rock band featuring electric cello, powerful vocals, thick harmonies, and wild displays of virtuosity. Our debut album "Simulacrum" is available now at select stores and live shows and we just wrapped up an East coast Spring tour.
We are five human beings who have absolutely made up our mind to inspire the world through music. Every drop of energy spent on stage and in the studio is our contribution to this life and what we know of it. Listen, learn, love, feel.....
So where is this Enchanted Forest? Jon was telling me all about it, however I am still unfamiliar with it. When I used to live off of Woodland & Burton I would hangout at the parks in the Travis Heights area. I would always hear music playing. I just thought someone was jammin' out... really, really loud ;) Maybe this is where the Enchanted Forrest is. Show me the way.
Also Heath will be in town again the third weekend in July. I know he would love to see you guys. We should all get together and have us some fun!
You're welcome Chris! I enjoy live music and have friends in bands around here. I just have to clarify that it's Jon's step mom Karen Dexter that is spreading the word and brought the music in. She is so proud of Jon and the music of Distant Lights. Like I said it's awesome. I love the different sounds and the lead vocals are great. I think you will find some people from the meth lab (a.k.a. methodist hospital cath lab) employees buying some cd's... Okay enough brown nosing...I'll put you on my top friends and hopefully that'll help you out. And perhaps I can convince Karen into a trip to Austin. I expect VIP treatment. Ha ha! Keep up the good work. Live, Laugh, Love...
Actually i bought y'alls cd when you played at Clicks in Baton Rouge. I love it, and it still hasn't left my cd player! Every song is so different but yet they all tie together and its just amazing. Keep up the great work guys!!!
Just wanted to let you guys know that we had a great time last weekend. The show was fun and we can't wait for the next one. Stay in touch and MUCH respect-
-P
P.S. Unity is the shit. That's my jam and it sounded so good when y'all played it. Made the whole trip for me. -Peace
We had a great time u really rock! Guess what? I was heading back to my car and friends car who was visiting from Killeen when we went back and found our cars had been taken. We had parked in the parking lot of the Mobile gas station on I35 and 7th st when we got towed . The clerk in the gas station laughed in our face when we came in to say someone had stolen our cars. He told us he had them towed after we had just left. It took us a taxi ride to get to the pound and $400.00 to get them out. I am so angry about it that even that night I couldn't even see straight to drive home. We didn't even get home until 3am. I was so sleepy going to work Saterday and my friend still had to drive all the way home very tired because it took so long to take care of the mess the clerk made for us. I was saving that money for my sons and my birthday party next month. I say.....please do not go to that station I would take it as a favor if you would boycot it and tell your friends. Thank you. Vi
