Distek is proving to be one of the most respected DJs and Producers to emerge recently in the UKs underground scene. Hailing from North Wales he grew up mixing Hardcore and Trance throughout the 90s finding his feet mixing at the various free parties kicking off all over the area before becoming a regular in the local club scene. Having set up a studio a few years ago, Distek has obviously been working hard on adding his own twist into the electronic sound and as the releases mount up on the Kick The Drum, More Punk Than Funk, DJ Special Needs & Maximim Minimum labels it seems his twist is fast becoming popular with many different DJs and Promoters alike. His tracks have received rave reviews in the press from the likes of iDJ and Upfront magazines, while producers like Dave The Drummer, Ant, Mark EG & Ignition Technician have also voiced their approval and support. Having been DJing in such places as London, Manchester, Liverpool, Belgrade & Poland, Distek has taken the steps to playing live off his Computer, thus being able to play his latest unreleased. His productions helped earn Kick The Drum a place among the prestigious Stay Up Forever Collective of labels, and in 2007 with many new releases planned and a now solid style of astutely arranged beats and the cleverest of edits it looks like things are only going to get better!
