“Distinguished” is former NFL players Gino Mingo and Marcus Price, the dynamic duo hailing from Denver Colorado and Houston, Texas. Both are praise & worship leaders at Shoreline Christian Church, and warriors who love to worship God.
Their approach to ministry is different than others, especially coming from their sports background. They add two different dimensions – Marcus is deeply rooted in gospel music, while Gino’s love for praise & worship is evident - that truly balance their efforts.
No strangers to the music industry Gino and Marcus have been honing their skills and have been in the music industry for years.
Gino, a senior associate pastor, husband and father of two girls, released his debut solo project The Unfolding, co-produced by Grammy award-winning Israel Houghton and featured recording artists Niecee Walls, Claude McKnight of Take 6, and Shake Anderson, former bass player for the legendary group Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Gino has devoted his life to being a servant of the Gospel. “Music and Ministry is not separate. Ministry means to serve, and I want our music to serve people.” It is Gino’s hope that people do not just say they sound good, but that they are blessed by the anointing that comes through their songs. Gino states, “My prayer is that our music will touch people’s spirits and minister to their souls.”
Marcus took another route honing his musical talents by taking a variety of applicable classes and singing in the gospel choir while attending Louisiana State University. During his NFL career Marcus performed the National Anthem in Jacksonville and sung alongside gospel greats at the 2004 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration in Houston, Texas. The last six years of his football career, Marcus devoted much of his off-season time to songwriting, arrangement and musical development. Marcus now resides in San Diego, Ca with his wife of Twelve years, Roxanne, whom he credits with much of his success.
Both Gino and Marcus are leaders at Shoreline Christian Church, in San Diego, CA.
Collectively, the two have played professional football for the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Chargers, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and the B.C. Lions.
Their debut project entitled Warriors Worshippers features a host of musical all-stars including the highly sought-after Grammy award-winning producer Aaron Lindsey (Israel & New Breed), D.C.-based Kollective Music Group, and the Usher band.
“Distinguished” is a refreshing force, in the music industry, opening doors for ministry opportunities, while Warrior Worshippers reflects their love for Christ. “We want to be leaders and influence generations to come!”
