The following bands have all inspired me as well as influenced the types of music I enjoy creating. Some had more of an impact and are shown in bold letters. A lot of these bands I don't even listen to anymore, but they will always have a place on this list.

Anything with good strong lyrics and catchy clever music.
But most of all: Myself, my friends, the people I care about, the people I dislike, and people who tell me they appreciate my music.
Distortion Method is NOT just one style of music but is something for everyone. Distortion Method is a just hobby of mine for when I have an idea for a song stuck in my head and want to do something with it.
Distortion Method started out sometime around summer of '96. It started with a different name and went through about four or five different name until it finally settled with Distortion Method in '99. The relationship between the band members wasn't very stable. There were originally five guys. Then there was four. Then three. Then there were only two guys for a long time. Finally they built up a little bit by adding a bassist to the group, but they temporarily went by the name "No Crack For Cows" while they messed around and came up with the song "Afterday." It was written in one day by Risket and performed by Risket and the drummer at the time. The next song called "Cold Soul" was written by Risket alone. That's when the rest of this story all began. From then on out every song created as Distortion Method was written, produced, and recorded all by Guitarist/Bassist/Drummer/Producer: Risket (Chris). To this current day everything is done by Risket alone. Distortion Method has pretty much become just Risket's project. There never was a singer in Distortion Method, nor was there in No Crack For Cows (NCFC).
As time went on Risket learned more and tried new things. The first CD entitled "Sewn Shut" was kind of a light kick-off. Risket's goal was to attempt to reverse every bands curse. That is having a strong first album, a weak second, an even weaker third, etc. Some bands get lucky and their while their second album bombs horribly, their third makes up for it. Risket's idea was to allow the songs on each CD show an improvement. On "Sewn Shut" you hear a lot of experimenting and simplicity. The idea was that anything complicated can sound good so the goal was to take simple riffs and beats, and make a very catchy tune out of them.

I want one really bad too, because you gave me the one of the other band that you were in, but not one of these. =[ I'm sorry that I couldn't go with you guys too, and I really wish I could have.. my sister's band concert was a waste of time and then we got home and she just was all.. eh.. the whole rest of the time... lame..
