About me:
"Hollywood is a place where they will pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul." --Marilyn Monroe

My newest book is called FIFTY CENTS FOR YOUR SOUL. America's twisted obsession with celebrities is embodied in pretty, sexy, gossip-obsessed Barrett Greer, a chic pilgrim worshiping in her own Mecca: Hollywood. When Barrett, a reporter at a small paper, discovers that Hollywood's most glamorous icon may still be alive, she must decide whether to use the story for her own fame, or to let sleeping divas lie. Fifty Cents for Your Soul is a loving satire about one young woman's adventures among the rich, famous, and unscrupulous.

A THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A KISS There is no good reason for Barrett Greer to be obsessive about pop star Kat Savage. After all, Barrett is a responsible thirty two year old who is engaged to be married and is a writer at a magazine geared for middle aged women called Ladies Monthly.

During her days at work, Barrett spends her time on the computer reading gossip websites and looking at plastic surgery of stars. At home, Barrett devours tabloid magazines and watches the E! channel. Barrett constantly daydreams about what it must be like to be a star: spa treatments and limo rides, designer clothes and adoration from fans, obviously so much better than the boring, uneventful life she leads.

Be careful what you wish for because you might just get it--and get it Barrett does. Suddenly, she's smack in the middle of pop star Kat Savage's life, but her initial delight soon gives way to chaos. She discovers that the gorgeous singer is really a helpless bundle of nerves that cannot take care of herself.

Everything suffers as Barrett gets drawn into Kat’s life, trying to get the star back on track after a embarrassing public breakup with a young actor. Following years of dreaming about leading a glamorous life, Barrett gets to see another side of fame and fortune when Kat tumbles into a downward spiral, taking Barrett down with her.

The book is on Barnes&Noble, Powells, and AMAZON.COM right now!!

Britney Spears wrote me a tearful letter begging me to stop writing the Letters of Troof on my gossip site, Conversations About Famous People. That's where the idea for A Thousand Dollars for a Kiss came from. I owe Brit a big THANK YOU and a pair of cotton panties.

Cindy, did you like Sandra Oh's dress or dislike it? It reminds me of a Winter Ball gown I wore in 1987, the bow. I am buying a Spanx bra stat, you sell me everytime on a product, but this one sounds like a must-have. Isn't Sam Lufti a horrible human? What do you think of all that?

Cindy,
Yes, I'll be at the WeHo Book Festival too! I'm not on a panel, just signing, so I probably don't need the tequila shot. But I'd be happy to join you for one beforehand if it will help. ;)

Hi Cindy!

Thank you SO much for mentioning me on your blog. How amazingly sweet of you!

Life has been so crazy lately. My husband was in a bad motorcycle crash yesterday and thankfully is going to be fine--he was very, very lucky. It puts everything else in such perspective!

Hope you're having a great day!

Oh, I'm so excited to read your book--congrats on being so close to the finish line! I haven't had a chance to read any of those books yet--I've been too busy reading other manuscripts and getting ready for my UCR class (which starts tomorrow--I'm nervous and excited.) I look forward to diving in when I have a chance, though; thanks so much for all of the goodies.

Good luck getting to "the end"! :)
