The Door In The Wall, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that serves people of all ages that have a disability. Through TV programs, this Web site, Newsletters and special events, people are encouraged to try new experiences. It is also our goal to educate their able bodied peers to enable both to live together with new respect and understanding!

Hi My name is Jenny Blair, I am a member of The Door In The Wall program started in 1994 to spread disability news and host accessible events. I've been in a chair all my life. When I was 2 months old I got very sick (spinal meningitis) and I have been involved in a lot of different physical therapies ever since. I hope that if you live in my area you will join DITWTEXAS in all of the exciting events coming up this year. Add this page to your list of friends to stay updated on all of our latest news.

On July 4th, The Door In The Wall will host the Annual Medina Lake Barbecue. This is a family style event. Families bring side dishes while we fire up the pits and provide the meat. Ice tea, lemonade and ice water will also be provided. You are welcome to bring your own ice chests and lawn chairs. Kayaks, boat and jet ski will be available to pull kids (young and old) in tubes. At dark, there is a fireworks display and bonfire. The fireworks are provided each year by Medina Lake residents, Alan and Kim Smith. The Door In The Wall is right next to all the action! Everyone is invited to bring their tent and camp out. An accessible, air conditioned bathroom and shower are available. Medina Lake is down about 30 feet but we hope to have an ATV and plenty of volunteers to help anyone that can't walk to the water. Please wear old tennies in the lake to protect feet from sharp rocks or discarded bottles. Please call me at 210.254.2310 to RSVP and talk about what you would like to bring to the picnic.     I try do some organize get together for the people with disabilities have a optionality to do activities with normal people get understand their ability to do many thing also the people with disabilities are bean human just like equality for the people with intellect mentally disabilities also physical disabilities aren't monster to be bean human from many the normal people fear of us to be gone just like Best Buddies also R-Word from Special Olympic. I support to Special Olympic also The Best Buddies and Unidos Somo Iguales in Monterrey NL Mexico from their equality are organize in none different in their body and mentality.
