Joseph T. Giacinto established Dive BVI, Ltd. in October 1975. Dive BVI signed the first lease in the newly built Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour. Starting off with a 24 ft. boat and 16 steel tanks, things looked a little bleak. But after 30 years, Joe has brought scuba diving in the BVI to the forefront of the world diving stage. By building a great relationship within the community and with guests, Dive BVI has earned a professional reputation throughout the industry and in the BVI itself.

Not willing to rest on our laurels, we continue to stay at the forefront by adding new services and offerings. Dive BVI is proud to have opened the first Nitrox facility in the BVI and has seen tremendous success with the program. We have been featured in numerous trade publications and have participated in many other productions such as television programs, documentaries, and commercials. Dive BVI is affiliated with PADI, NAUI, and SSI diving programs and has been a Scubapro dealer for almost 25 years.

Our main focus is on customer safety and satisfaction. Our guests are our top priority. Through the years, we have seen entire families come back year after year to train and dive with us. We want to establish great relationships with our guests and make them feel truly at home with us. We employ a full time staff of Instructors and Divemasters whom have been selected for their teaching and professional excellence. We have a tremendous amount of experience on our staff as well as variety. We truly serve an international clientele and strive to maintain that diversity among our staff as well. Each staff member is trained in First Aid and Oxygen procedures with a large majority of them being First Aid Instructors.

Dive BVI has three full service locations (Leverick Bay, Marina Cay and Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour) and a resort location at Little Dix Bay Hotel. We are proud to announce that we have been chosen to be the exclusive dive operation of the new SCRUB ISLAND RESORT AND SPA set to open in early 2009. Each of these locations is fully stocked and equipped to serve the diving and water sports community. Dive BVI also maintains a fleet of five custom dive boats that are set up with divers and snorkelers in mind. In May 2007, Dive BVI received its newest boat, Sea Monkey, from Newton Boats. This sister boat to Sea Dragon is fast, clean and comfortable. In July 2005, Dive BVI received its first Newton boat, a 36 ft., known worldwide as the dive boat of choice. This boat is certified for twenty-three divers but we keep it to 12 in order to provide a premier service and experience for our guests. We do not want our boats to be a “cattle boat” operation, as we believe that it takes away from the beauty, serenity, and wonders of the BVI. These boats are meticulously maintained by our full time mechanic and we are very proud of our fleet as these boats serve as our on the water ambassadors.

Dive BVI continues to look to the future by investing in new services and programs that we feel will enhance our guests’ enjoyment, make it a safer experience for them, and ultimately, make them feel a part of the Dive BVI family.
