Saddleworth rock band Diversion Ends originally formed in 1985, and
split up in 1992. During their original seven year existence they remained
highly creative, writing no less than 46 original songs, and performing
countless gigs in theatres, pubs and clubs around the North of England and
Wales. They came very close to sealing a major recording contract, but as is the
way with so many bands they were let down by record company in-house politics. Their
biggest break was backing Smokie on their Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
tour during 1990, but as frustrations grew due to a
misguided direction, the band imploded not long after.
Lead singer Sam Johnson and keyboard player Julian Flindle went on to form
Detours with
Ez Jon Erikson, an acoustic pop
rock trio, who chose their name and performed several Diversion Ends
songs as a mark of respect to the band. In 2005, Ez Jon Erikson persuaded
several members to reunite, and the reformed line up are now rehearsing together
with a view to recording and performing live again.
Please check their website

depth further info on the band's history and news. This MySpace page will in the
meantime feature early demos of what was, and is a potentially great rock band.
Enjoy!
