Originating as a no-frills, 2-piece grunge/rock band, from Central Scotland, Diverz Palace have grown as musicians by embracing the flexibility of midi-based programming and sequencing in order to utilise unique sounds, take different approaches to creating arrangements, and incorporate compelling industrial vibes.
Combining dynamic and spirited performances with the growing capabilities of music technology, Diverz Palace evolved into a unpredictable, heavier, and more engaging band. Their unparalleled sound allow them to take their listeners to surreal soundscapes, melt their hearts with soft, dulcet tones of angst, then bring them back to the frontline for a full onslaught of classic metal annihilation.
Diverz Palace have written and recorded their self-produced album, "The Chaos Theory". They are winners of the '99 UG Breaking Glass competition, in the mixed instruments category, and they also bet over a thousand bands, making it into the semi-finals to play at the high profile venue, 'T in The Park'. Their full length demo album received critical acclaim from the street team of Roadrunner Records.
After their previous gigging band, The Nakatomi Terrorists, Diverz Palace took time out to concentrate on their own technical and songwriting abilities. Raymond, who has been writing music since the age of 11, is focusing on developing his own unique style and is excited about the direction the new album will take. He has already scored for several short films and a feature length documentary.
Michael Hughes has been writing and playing lead guitar since an early teenager. Following in the footsteps of his own guitar hero, Yngwie Malmsteen, he too is developing extraordinary skills as a guitar virtuoso. Covering many top lead guitarists today, he thirsts for the challenge of being able to play anything that is thrown to him.
Diverz Palace's sound merges classic metal guitars, with the vibe of grunge. Like a can of juice shaken up - fizzing with music which is explosive, ingredients which include catchy hooks, insane solos, bittersweet and slightly miffed vocals, a hint of dark humour...
