Finding a music production crew nowadays is not a hard
task. It seems that in every magazine or on-line
publication you are reading about the “new” producers
that are about to blow up the spot and hopefully the
charts. Armed with either a keyboard, MPC or both for
that matter, these new producers attempt to step up
and claim their place in that ever growing group. As
hip hop music evolves, gone seems to be the days where
producers were able to tap their keyboards and/or live
instruments as well as the dusty grooves in their
record collection to produce a masterpiece that could
withstand the test of time.
With that being said, the Divided Souls Productions
collective of Brent Dixon, SPank, Jeremy, and Esco
step to the forefront in the group of producers to be
checking for in an era of microwave hip hop. From club
bangers to street gutter beats to undeniable groove
infused soul, Divided Souls Productions gives you that
slow cooked hip hop flavor regardless of region or
current trend. Whether it is sample based or live
instruments, their music has that “feel” that just
envelopes the listener and leaves them craving for
more of the signature sound.
When you think back to your favorite records, what was
“it” that made them your favorite records? Was it the
drums, the grooving bassline, or the riding percussion
that made you just nod your head to the rhythm? Or,
was it that “feeling” or “soul” that produced
something timeless? No matter what your answer is, you
can be assured that Divided Souls captures all of the
above in their productions. So, keep noddin’ and we’ll
keep producin’!!!
