Television
We have once again rid ourselves of the menace of broadcast TV but still enjoy the occasional dose of our favorite British comedies such as Black Adder and Father Ted and of course, Seinfeld.
Books
I love to read but mostly prefer non-fiction books because I am passionate about learning new things.
Heroes
My family and friends who put up with me and my honesty. I admire that in a person. ;) I also admire anyone who can follow their dreams without being totally selfish. I'm wondering if that's even possible...?
After a mystical experience ten years ago, (see Golden Threads blog above) I finally saw and understood that healing energy really does flow through each and every one of us when we express ourselves in any way. As a result, I accepted my path as an artist, which I had shunned before, in lieu of attempting to follow a traditional healer's route.
My latest artistic venture - oil painting (view my paintings flashing on the screen to the left)- I began about three years ago. As most beginners, my focus has been on realism. I hope to eventually grow into a more relaxed, impressionistic style, although I do still love the challenge that realism brings.
I started painting to express the love I felt for each inspired scene. Although a photo could suffice, I felt I wanted to be one with the Creator to try to capture the feeling of creation and to attempt to show the world how I see things.
I get 'hung up' on details because I am fascinated by the microscopic world. I like close-up scenes as opposed to vast landscapes because -as with people - no matter how unpleasant a particular scene may be, if you look close enough, you can always find some good.
Thanks for stopping by! May you always look for and find the good everywhere.
Wow, Deb, I couldn't hope for more wonderful comments than those you posted on my beach pics. Thanks for the ego boost :). That beach is the one I always photograph--it's where I get my driftwood--it's called Crystal Cove and it's here in OC. It's a state park and is very natural, and as you see there are wonderfully weird creatures that I cannot identify, kinda like another planet. And it is quintessentially California which is what I love the most...
hey babe...just letting you know that I think about writing to you every day but have no time! A (good) drama is maybe unfolding here that I will catch you up on when I find out for sure. Anyway, hope all is well and we'll talk soon.
Hello my dear friend, I have been holed up with work for the last two weeks with very little sleep, so sorry for ignoring you. I have never ever worked this hard, and that's saying a lot for me since I'm so into projects. Padhraic just left for the airport--he'll be in Europe for 10 days...I miss him already. Sleep deprivation does a double duty number on me, so I am going to sleep, sleep, sleep, and when I wake up I will email.
hey debbie, I did not forget to reply, I'm just currently very stressed! i will answer your message soon as possible for me! :) with the best wishes for the next week, matthew
I am so sorry that this dilemma has occured in the late winter. Only the clock will be in your favor, as winter turns to spring in a few more weeks. Hopefully, in a month, when it's St. Patty's Day, you should feel more joyous when corned beef and cabbage marathon begins with some Killian's Red. -RZ's Fave Holiday.
Happy New Year, Debbie! I hope you had a good one and that we will talk soon...this weekend would work for me if you like. And thank you for your pic comment...it means a lot to me.
