DIVINE NATURE is a collaborative trio that brings a refreshing sound mixed with urban lyrics that resonate the message of Jesus Christ. Formed in 1993 as a spin-off from the nationally known Contemporary Gospel group, CHRONICLES, founding members Robbie Gissendanner and Avery "Chubb" Council decided to revamp the group with the addition of Toussaint Lipton and change the name to DIVINE NATURE. At that time, this trio began working to develop the DIVINE NATURE sound, which consisted of R&B arrangements and production with a contemporary/urban gospel feel. Before long, it was evident that they had created something truly special. Together, these men of God bring forth a dynamic urban contemporary sound to the church as well as the streets.
After years of perfecting the musical gifts that God has given to them, Divine Nature has nurtured and expanded their sound to be a cross mix of great Contemporary Gospel with a strong Christian Contemporary flavor. Previously signed to Trinity/Hendrix Records, DIVINE NATURE released their debut album entitled "PART OF ME." After being on a hiatus for a few years, DIVINE NATURE returns to the scene continuing to provide great Contemporary Gospel in addition to Inspirational music with their latest CD, released independently, entitled "THE FULLNESS OF JOY"!
"This album offers a balance of Contemporary and Inspirational music that will be very thought provoking," states Robbie Gissendanner, founding member of DIVINE NATURE . "Our goal is to reach beyond the church as we pose pivotal questions [through our music] to those who may not know Jesus," continues Gissendanner. Based out of Rochester, NY, DIVINE NATURE partnered with highly sought after producer Battle Roy & The Roc Music Group to create a well written & produced project. As writers and co-producers on every song, DIVINE NATURE worked hard to ensure that not only the musical integrity is maintained but also the spiritual quality as well.
Over the past few years, they have had the opportunity to share the stage with many great gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Deitrick Haddon, Mary Mary, Israel Houghton, Rance Allen and Tye Tribbett to name a few. They have also made several appearances on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel Show, as well as The Gospel Music Workshop of America Convention. Their mix of unique heartfelt lyrics are positively impacting and appropriate for Gospel music lovers of all ages and are sure to penetrate the very core of where Gospel music is today.
