At the encouragement of a teacher in elementary school, Divinity began a life long love affair with writing. Writing has served her in many ways, including expressing herself to others, helping others express themselves, and as a method of prayer/communication with herself. Her writings have been used for indie film and television, print publications, online, for slogans and marketing, by other musicians/groups, for her own performing as a stand up comedian, emcee/host and vocalist. She sends a weekly column/newsletter titled "Divinity Rising: All Part of the Show" from her website. More than anything, Divinity uses her writing to pull out what is found swirling within so it may be examined.

At the encouragement of the same elementary school teacher, Divinity found a love for performing that rivaled her love for writing. She began with theater plays, drama tournaments, and moved on to indie tv and film. She then tried stand up comedy for a few years before following her interests in music. She often serves as emcee/host for open mics and other live events. She started her exploration into music by doing small experimental vocal stuff with different people. Like the beat of a shaman’s drum, our will resounds within us only wanting to be heard. When we dance to its beat, we find ourselves on the path of realization..

While a unique individual may be one who dances to the beat of their own drum, a shaman is one whose drum beats so loudly that others have no choice but to hear it and find themselves tapping their foot or completely emerged, lost in the dance.
