The DixZhighway band is a high energy, powerful, and overall brilliantly talented group of musicians.
The band is highlighted by teen vocal sensation Stephanie Maples. Stephanie has been performing and thrilling audiences since she was 13 years old. Her powerful vocals range from Ann Wilson (Heart), Gretchen Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin, to Wynonna Judd and others. Also, Stephanie has absolutely no stage fright. She is a true entertainer. Many in the know, have marked Stephanie as the next superstar. Until his untimely demise, Wayne Perry, singer and songwriter, with six number one songs to his credit, was preparing to produce and promote Stephanie. Wayne wrote Tim Mcgraw's first number one hit, (Not a Moment too Soon), and also wrote for Toby Keith, Colin Ray, Holly Dunn, and Lorrie Morgan. Wayne also produced the Backstreet Boys for two years. Stephanie was an American Idol contestant in 2006 in Seattle Washington where she placed in the final 50 out of over 10,000 contestants and drew high praises from producer Nigel Lithgow.
The rest of the band consists of:
Bassist- Ritchie “Rich” Maples has been playing guitar, drums, and bass since he was 14 years old. As he progressed, he decided the bass guitar was his instrument of choice. Ritchie is always a crowd favorite due to his stage presence and fun loving attitude.
Lead Guitar- Jamie ''Ting-Ting'' Maples (brother to Ritchie) has also been playing guitar since he was 14. With Jamie's lightning fast reflexes he can be compared to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dierks Bentley, and Ted Nugent. He is crisp, smooth, and sharp, and is one of the premier left handed guitar players around.
Keys/Vocals- Dwayne ''IceD'' Fisher has an amazing ability for ''tickling the ivorys''. He also plays a mean bass guitar. Dwayne, before joining DixZhighway, had shared the stage with national acts such as Confederate Railroad, T. Graham Brown, Billy Joel, Royal, and others.
Drummer- Steve Hundley was born and raised in Louisiana. He began learning to play drums at an early age by listening to his favorite drummers; Tommy Lee, Alex Van Halen, Jeff Porcaro, and John Bohnam. Steve played in bands while in high school. He also played in The Avenues Band with Nick Lachey and Justin Jeffre. He has opened for national acts such as The Guess Who, Firefall, Iron Butterfly, Rare Earth, and the Spin Doctors. Steve certainly has a style of his own and knows how to make the drums come alive.
Background vocals/Manager- Peggy ''Peg Sue'' Brezinski, is from a long family line of musicians and was singing acapella for audiences at the age of 7 years old. Being raised in the hills of Tennesee, much like Loretta Lynn, she never had the opportunity to pursue her dream of a musical career, but now works diligently to give the DixZhighway band the opportunity she never had.
Stephanie, along with DixZhighway band, has been honored to share the stage with Blessed Union of Souls, Joe Diffie, Jeff Bates, Patty Loveless, Keith Anderson, Steve Holy, Joe Nichols, Bomshel, and Lou Graham of Foreigner.
The members of the DixZhighway band are not only outstanding musicians and vocalists but are great stage performers also. Since their inception, the DixZhighway band has become one of the most sought after bands in the greater Cincinnati tri-state and surrounding areas. The band has already produced one CD and one DVD. They are currently working on a second CD which will include originals.
