Would you like to be apart of a creative underground network of all ages shows at houses and warehouses in Melbourne? Do you want to be able to see all styles of good music as well other performance art and general creativeness? If the answer is yes then we want you to join the DIY House Gig community. Any age, any way you can help out –we’re looking for all people of all subcultures to get involved.
You can help out in any of the following ways and more:
You do zines, comics, make t-shirts or badges that you’re interested in selling them at shows
You’re in a band or you’re a DJ that would like to play house shows
You wanna help cook food for the events
You want to write about DIY culture and contribute to this site
You want to help organise sound, DJ equipment or P.A.
You’re an artist that would like to display/sell your works
You want to help organise or run your own event
Our new Ep "Silver Boat" recorded in Studio 4 of the Manhattan Center is now available ! It is out on Bristol based label Stitch Stitch records, limited edition of 300, and it is very lovely and hand made. So you should get yourself a copy from our myspace page...

This self titled work consists of two extended pieces recorded at MPS studio in 2007, hinged on deep electroacoustic explorations rich in gesture and texture.
Last October, Hotel Wrecking City Traders got word of their mates Electric Jellyfish's tragedy whilst on tour in the US. That night they dedicated their set at the East Brunswick Club to the band for their loss. The show was committed to film by the prople at Two Tap TV and is now being released on DVD.

An opportunity for all of those interested in any aspect of Melbourne’s buzzing Street Press from zines to comics, from magazines to blogs, any genre and any level, all are welcome.
Whether you're a budding writer, designer, editor, artist, programmer or photographer, there will be a space for you to meet the like-minded, exchange ideas and learn new skills.
The series of eight workshops will commence on May 14th at City Library, 253 Flinders Lane in Melbourne's CBD.
They will run from 6pm until 7.45pm and will be FREE.
A mini Festival style event with 2 rooms rock in the main and mellow in the front plus guest djs and artist exhibiting and a designer market area with a budget priced beer and Spanish food menu.

Saturday 8th March Sabbatical is proud to present the launch of our 9th series release 'Stable Government and Adequate Sanitation' by Marcus Cook, otherwise known as Default Jamerson. Supports for this evening are Snawklor, Happy Adults, Free Choice and St. John's Ambience (who will kick the show off at 7:30pm with 90 minute drone piece).
