The pictures that are presented here is taken by DizziMee. Some are from the day we recorded my songs in Studio PeekaBoo. I love taking pictures so I will change them every now and then.
Influences
My life from the day I was born until today has been my main influence. My parents were very young when they brought me into this world. My mother was only sixteen years old. My father was always singing at home and we listened a lot to Elvis Presley. When I was seven some friends of mine found a swedish songbook in a garbageroom in a house across the street! The name of the book was "Nu ska vi sjunga" ("Now we are going to sing"). We were four friends that took turns of having the book. I had it first. Then I remember when they came to get it. It made me so sad. The book was like gold for me. I looked at the pictures and the notes. Now I just wonder why I didn..t ask my parents to buy me one. . . But I was a little girl and I probably thought it was going to cost a lot of money. The first swedish singer that interrested me was Ted Gärdestad. He made me curious about the lyrics. Another episod I recall from my childhood is a moment in front of the television looking at an american musical film, and how I looked at and listened to a female singer wearing a long dress standing on a scene with her audience in front of her - and I remember how I was thinking "That..s Me". It was an awakening. A closeness to something I wanted to be. My parents bought me a taperecorder and I started to record music from the radio. When there was a song I liked I wrote down the lyrics. It was a hard job, back and forth, back and forth. But I always managed to get it down on paper. I could then sing the songs over and over again. When I was 12 years old my teacher gave me the highest mark in music after he had heard me sing Ted Gärdestads song "Californiens Guld" (The Gold of California). In school (Tynneredsskolan) when I was 13 - 16 years old I was the frontsinger in the choir. My friends always made me stand closest to the microphone. We were a good choir and we were singing at Liseberg (an amusementpark) once and at our local shoppingmall and they wrote about us in the local paper. When people asked me what I wanted to become when I grow up, I always said: "A journalist or a singer". Three times I was on my way to different auditions, but everytime I choose not to go, cos.. it made me terrified. But after living my husbands dream and supporting him 100 % as a PBA-Bowlingplayer in USA, living in a big Southwind motorhome, pulling a Ford behind, driving around the States for apprx. 8 years I decieded it was my turn to live mine. When I felt he was not going to support my dream as I had done all these years with his, I decieded to divorce him. Our marriage had become a disapointment for me and that made me write my first song. So maybe I should thank him. I also love acting, painting, writing poems and I am writing a book. To create is the love of my life. Can..t live without it.
The artists that I have been listening to through the years are many. Here are some of them: Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Cher, Toni Braxton, Carlene Carter, Celine Dion, Tracy Chapman, Carly Simon, Vonda Shepard, Sara Brightman, Madonna, Norah Jones, Nelly Furtado, Shakira, Sade, Shania Twain, Alanis Morrisette, Annie Lennox, Suzanne Vega, Pink, Lenny Kravitz, Daniel Lemma, Rod Stewart, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Brian Adams, Ben Harper and Robin Williams.
Swedish artists that I for example have been listening to are: Marie Bergman, Lisa Ekdahl, Lisa Nilsson, Eva Dahlgren, Rebecka Törnqvist and Ted Gärdestad.
They are so many, these are just some. Dolly Parton is my favourite female countryartist.
DizziMee™ is my name as an artist and also my trademark.
I sing and write songs both music and lyrics. My voice is my instrument and my head is my inventor.
I live in Sweden in a town called Gothenburg. I hope you will enjoy my music. My three songs that I recently added to this sight I wrote a couple of years ago.
Each song has a story in my life.
The music is arranged and played by two great musicians and friends Petter Seander and Fredrik Liberg also from my hometown. We recorded the songs in a Studio called PeekaBoo. Dragan in Bohus Studio mastered my songs for a final touch.
Just now I study, but I am planning on recording more songs as soon as possible. I have a lot of songs that are waiting to be recorded. I wish I had a sponsor so that I could concentrate on making more of my music into recordings.
During 1984 - 1991 I both traveled and lived in USA.
In 1992 I wrote my first song! It was the very same day I finished a music education in jazzimprovisation in Folkuniversitetet here in Gothenburg. I surprised myself!
I didn..t know I could write songs and suddenly I did. It was amazing. Like a miracle. I felt so near everything that happened to me. I started to get the feeling that I was part of something bigger and that we all belong to each other here on earth and my thoughts came alive in things I wrote. And still does!
1999 - 2001 apprx. I was practicing Studio singing in a Studio called Stage School. I was singing covers (other peoples songs).
But I was longing more and more for singing my own songs.
A couple of years ago I was guided to Petter Seander and Fredrik Liberg which here play all the instruments and which also have arranged the music.
They are very talented and I am so grateful for all their help!
Thank you Petter and thank you Fredrik!!
