MY CERULEAN HEART make bittersweet avante pop folktronica that combines beautiful vocals and insightful, hopeful lyrics, drawing comparisons with Portishead, Goldfrapp and The Paradise Motel.??

As much as the band are known for Heidi's mystical and poignant lyrics they are also recognised for Anthony's strong visual aesthetic. Anthony is responsible for the band's art work and most of their videos and he also draws on his visual arts background for his song arrangements and sound colours. In April 2010 Fflur was welcomed to the band to add her georgeous vocal harmonies and exotic percussion.

Their songs explore shimmery visions of their world, ranging from cinematic soundscapes to pop tinged, glitchy dance beats.

In April 2010, MY CERULEAN HEART became the new name of the band previously known as DIZZYGOTHECA. The new name was chosen because it evokes more hope, beauty and has a poetic touch.

Under their old name, DIZZYGOTHECA have released two EPs. With their second EP, A Little Closer to the Truth (2009) they collaborated with some of Brisbane's best producers including Lawrence English, Joe Panetta and Wernher Pramschufer, to create a soft, tender and yet powerful EP that connects with listeners in a deep and yet warm way and contains the innovative ideas and atmosphere they are known for.

2009 saw them reach local community radio 4ZzZ's Hot 100 Top 20 for the second time with their track 'Sky Over Israel'. In 2008 they received local acclaim with a Q Song award nomination for their track ‘Little Beat’, which also reached 18 in local radio 4ZzZ's Hot 100 and received national airplay on ABC Radio National. They have toured around South East Queensland and south as far as Sydney. They have shared the stage with electronica luminaries such as The Bird, Severed Heads, Tomas Ford, The Hunz, My Ninja Lover, Angelspit, The Wretched Villains, Tycho Brahe, Ponyloaf, Snog, MZO, The Rational Academy and Lawrence English to name just a few.

‘[They] successfully tread the fine line that divides influence from mere imitation – the six tracks on A Little Closer To The Truth all bring to mind more well known practitioners of this kind of work (the more ethereal tracks of Andrea Parker spring particularly to mind) without ever sounding derivative. Closing track 313 sounds a bit like what you’d imagine Alison Goldfrapp would be doing now if she’d been locked in an abandoned warehouse for four years when she was still making atmospheric soundscapes instead of serving up lukewarm glamrock. It’s rough around the edges with a dirty groove that I’m sure fires up live audiences, the multi-tracked vocals pulling together the many strands that make up this EP into something greater than the sum of its parts. It’s an EP that makes me excited to see how the band develops their sound into an album long project.
