They are now clear and unmistakable.
Four white concrete walls,
a cold storage space of spite.
Orthogonal, an almost perfect volume binds me.
Or is it me who is bound to it? for and from…
An angle breaks the harmony once promised by unclear vision.
There, in the middle, a circular mirror where once I saw myself
whirl a thousand reflected memories
and I can only watch as I lay on the hardwood floor.
Dark and tempered timber from trees of old forgotten forests…
Amongst useless machines, artifacts and relics, empty bottles,
expired notes, unscented letters and unopened invitations…
All extending from my once vigorous body like a blast in the air.
Hidden letters sit inside the closet
Next to many unread books that somehow accumulated
with all the glorious stories I never got around to writing…
all the breathtaking tales I won’t ever tell.
Unforeseen, unpredicted.
It was so fine for just one moment
that high blue horizon sky
Beautiful colors with colors and colors
that once were held well kept by my clear unclouded sight.
I cannot recall the years, once so vivid in mind.
Now I lie down motionless
losing count of the hours and days;
with each passing frame of time,
my body drops deeper, deeper, deeper.
Darkened eyes, which could not see the signals signaled.
Failed attempts, missed opportunities, passed chances, lost in time
and she keeps moving time.
Making me forget all that was; making me believe all that wasn’t.
Coming to a stand still between imagined pasts and possible futures.
