   About DJ78
He's the DJ in a DJ with a pre-vinyl playlist!

Using a pair of 1930's HMV wind-up gramophones and a big box of 78rpm shellac discs, DJ78 provides atmosphere and entertainment in equal measure.
Playing an eclectic selection of popular music from the dancebands of the 20's to the rock'n'roll pioneers of the 50's he makes any social gathering that little bit classier. Looking dapper in his dinner suit and dicky bow, DJ78 can work completely independent of electricity, but has also been known to use modern technology when the circumstances necessitate.

Here he is with satisfied client Alex James and Greg from Greg's Greats 78s

...and here he is, mixing masterfully, at The Latitude Festival...

Swing Mon Amour

Jun 6 2009 10:12 AM

Opening night: Tuesday 9th june 2009 - 9pm / 11.30pm

Forget about the gym workout: come dancing!!

(and save on the gym subscription and the dating site subscription too...)

Thank goodness we will be opened on the 9th for the first edition of Swing Mon Amour so you'll have something nice to do on a tuesday night. It's very cheap (in terms of money not quality obviously), and you'll get great acts every week that will make you sweat and get plenty of excercice. I'm talking resident Dj El Nino from Black Cotton Club & Lady Luck, and Gentleman Tim & the Contenders a great 1950's swing R&B Chicago blues band. You'll dance all night, guaranted!

Styles : Blues - Chicago Blues - West coast Blues - 20's 30's -  Gypsy swing  - Big Band - Swing - R&B - Jump Jive - Rockabilly - Rock&Roll - Western Hillbilly - and many more...

"The Hand are Bristol-based musicians Rachael Dadd & Wig Smith. Together they share a love of folk, blues and world music and play an exotic array of instruments including Kora, Banjo, Ukulele, and Harmonium. They are touring the UK with Japanese solo artist Ichi, who takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits – combining steel drum with ping-pong balls, tape-loops, trumpet and xylophone.

Support comes from Norwich-based musicians Sam James Hill and Tenderlion plus Buffet Style DJ's playing music from the psyche's deli..."

@ DRAGON HALL, Norwich - Sat 20th June 2009. 7.30pm £5 on the door.

"The Teddy Bears' Picnic" is really sort of frightening. Just the thing to play for the kiddies if you want them to be moaning and wetting their beds all night. I love it!

Very kind, thankyou!

Such compliments more than make up for being six foot three, with a hefty camera, right at the front of a gig crowd...
