Radio, clubs, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, release parties... I'm a music nutter and DJ who believes firmly in a completely Multirhythmical society and play Multirhytmical music in as many different settings as possible! That usually means music with drums. :-)
Daytime sees me as a journalist, DJ, presenter and music producer with the NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Every day for 3 years until sept-06 I presented more than 700 editions of my completely Genre-Free 1-hour long radio show on National Radio called WASABI (www.nrk.no/wasabi). Here I played everything from swedish funk to jamaican tango to belorussian electro to nigerian jazz and chinese techno.... and everything in between! Up to 200.000 people listened to the daily eclectic mix in WASABI, but to many music lovers' dismay (including my own), the show was taken off air when the station decided to tighten up its musical profile.
As a DJ, I've played everywhere from the Sónar Festival in Barcelona to a small cabin in rural Serbia. In 2005, I reached the finals of the International World Beat DJ Competition in London. Back home, I've played every major and minor festival and club around, including NuMusic, Insomnia, Oslo World Music Festival and Nattjazz.
I've run and promoted several regular club nights myself in Oslo and Bergen, including the award-winning monthly Soria Moria Dancing (Several Club of the Year Awards), Klubb Svoger (live Jazz and rhytmical tunes) and Club Kamel. Today I run the monthly club night BAR 99, every last thursday of the month at Bar Internasjonalen, downtown Oslo. I have also put on and organized a festival, the Quart-På-Festivalen.
