The impact DJ KJ® has on club-goers around Chicago is evident night after night and week after week. Spinning for over a decade now, he has been major musical force in Chicago’s nightclub scene for the last 7 years. Discovered by legendary promoter Dave Medusa in 2000, KJ got his start at the Mission Nightclub in suburban Elgin, IL. Bangin’ the hard beats, DJ KJ® spun alongside “the Godmothers” of Chicago’s hard house sounds, DJ PsychoBitch and Teri Bristol. Over the next few years he broadened and evolved his musical style much in the way of his mentor DJ Flipside of B96 Radio Chicago.
Essentially re-discovered and unleashed by Chicago nightlife promoter Brian Phieffer of SurrealChicago.com, DJ KJ® has emerged upon the elite nightlife scene of Chicago entertaining everyone including Chicago’s A-List socialites and celebrities. KJ’s “in-your-face” hip hop sets and high energy dance mixes have dominated dancefloors and garnered recognition for some time now. Even Michael Jordan was quoted as having told KJ “You play damn good music.”
Influenced by the sounds, style, and persona of “Rockstar DJ,” Bad Boy Bill, the precision mixes of B96 Radio’s former DJ, Bobby D, and the Hip Hop flava of Current B96 mixmaster, DJ Speed, DJ KJ® blends a diverse array of music in to one set of musical bliss attempted by many but perfected by none.
