Music
Love a little of everything. I am extremely mood driven when it comes to my music. Of course you cant generalize every band to a mood, some are itnerchangeable depending on song or album, but for cliche and generalization I will try to categorize, but remember alot of artists can cross-over from mood to mood.
If I am sad, I like sad or realistic and majestic, music that makes me feel real (Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, Tom Petty, Damien Rice, Elliott Smith, Grandaddy, PJ Harvey, LOW, Radiohead, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Ben lee, Sarah Mclachlan, Regina Spektor, Death Cab, Moby . . .etc)
If I am full of energy i like Hip Hop and Pop and Electro (Ghostface, Blueprint, Freezepop, Action Action, The Faint, Benassi, Chromeo, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Gnarls Barkley, GIRL TALK, hellogoodbye, Hot HCip, Junior Boys, The Knife, M.I.A., The Killers, Peaches, Shiny Toy Guns, Under the Influence of Giants, Something For Rockets, The Rentals, VNV Nation etc . . )
If I am frustrated or angry I like Hardcore, Cliche 90's heavy stuff, Art Punk and some Screamo (Blood Brothers, Showbread, Horse the Band, Korn-guilty pleasure-, Cursive, Death From Above 1979, and you will know us by the trail of the dead, Fall oF Troy etc . . .)
If I am feeling introspective, political, or like a college kid again I like Indie, scenester music, and 80's wave; kinda weird huh (Depeche Mode, The Cure, Arcade Fire, Autolux, Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem, Of Montreal, Secret Machines, White Stripes, The Shins, Stars of Track and Field, Strokes, TV On the Radio, Interpol, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Fiery Furnaces, New Pornographers, Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, !!!, New Order, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, International Noise Conspiracy, U2, Violent Femmes, and many many more)
So all generalizations aside, i love music!
Movies
OK, I am a total freak-tastic movie nut job!!! I love to sit in the darkness of the movie theater probably as much as intimacy with a woman i love, maybe i am crazy, well yes I am crazy but still, it is true. I think film is such a wonderful and beautiful medium to express emotion, share messages, and entertain. During Sundance film festival in January, I catch a ridiculous amount of films, I dont do partys or swag, I do FILMS. It is my true passion. If you want to talk or debate film whether it is Art House, obscure, avante garde, doc, classic, new, indie, hollywood, etc . . . feel free to drop me a line about anything film wise, I am not a genius, but I do know my share of film info.
I tend to have a weird guilty pleasure for Horror and Scary movies, INDIE( MOST FESTIVAL FILMS), Foreign, Anime, and I love a good smart Drama or intelligent comedy, as well as Black comedy.
But my true passion right now is with Documentary films. True stories are usually so much more gripping then fiction, and when told right a good Doc can knock you off your feet with emotion and energy.
Overall though, I see alot of movies. I used to write reviews, and probably should start again, Anthony begs me to do it for his site, maybe I will, put that in my agenda . . . need to write reviews, check.
So feel free to chat with me about movies.
I of course love the Salt Lake Film society and have done some work and volunteering for them in the past. But I go to hollywood films a ton also, don't get me wrong- I am truly just a film freak. Ask anyone who knows me I love film, and it will be my favorite hobby forever. . . . .OK so i am a nerd, but what can you do??
Television
First of all 30 Rock is the best comedy series in years!! Right now I am so into Big Brother 10, sad huh. I also am quite addicted to most HBO and SHOWIME series like Weeds, Californication, Entourage, Flight of The Conchords, Tell Me You Love Me, Sopranos (R.I.P.) etc... I also love Undeclared and Freaks and Geeks (R.I.P.).
I am a nut job over The Office, both the American and Britsh series. Love the hell out of cooking shows, and most anything on Food networkm Like Ace of Cakes and iron Chef and Dinner: Impossible too.
I also really like the animated shows....King Of The Hill, Family Guy, so far American Dad, Simpsons. LOVE almost everything on ADULT SWIM espeially TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW GREAT JOB! and all those crazy shows late night on cartoon network, I also love SpongeBob Squarepants.

I really like PBS too and travel shows and doc's basically stuff that is not scripted with actors and such, but not like fear factor, thats stupid and all those date shows and talent shows are lame. But some reality is ok.
Books
I am addicted to Graphic Novels and comics big time (geek), too many to list, but I like most stuff published by Image, Viper, Dynamite, Dark Horse, Windstorm, Marvel and many others. Even some DC especially GOOD BATMAN
I really like Chuck Palahniuks books like
Fight Club, Lullaby, Choke, Diary, and Invisible Monster.
I also adore Stephen King and his diverse writing skills
I read Shopgirl by Steve Martin and love how whistfully classical yet edgy and modern it was.
I read a lot of Michael Crichton as a kid, kind of embarrased about it, and I also like alot of King, yeah guilty pleasure.
