Mayan Calenderics (Ek Balam Copan)
Universal Spirituality, being a Dad, Changing the Planet 1 person at a time through love and consideration, The Mix, The ReMix, Art in all forms, Love Revolutions, Mayan Artifacts and Prophecy, Enlightenment. Music in diversity. Life needs a soundtrack. It's to hard to function without it. Exotic Food, before I die in this life, I hope to try a little bit from each country's menu. Food makes for some of the best conversation. Especially when you agree on taste. Single malt aged Scotch. Fine Cigars. Pow wows. Indigenous and Tribal cultures. Organic (foods) nurishment. Hello my name is Pablo Zaldivar, Welcome to my space. Here's a little something about me. I was born in New Orleans, La.USA (The city, not the suburbs) 7th ward,(Birthplace of Jazz) I come from a modest upbringing from both Honduran and Belizean parents. I see the truth and understand the real way of the world. I am a compassionate, creative, diverse individual. All though I was born in the United States, I know the freedom that we so call have isn't really available to all Americans only the extremely wealthy, the ultra
consumer. The general population doesn't realize the evils of Globalization and the millions of lives and families it destroys. They are taught to compete and consume without knowing or having a conscience of who is or what is being exploited to get their comforts in life. There are also many censored and banned books which expose the truth about so many corrupt corporations, the World Bank and politicians. The censored media is also manipulated by corporate dictatorship and the government. Racism is more prevalent now than it's been in 30 years the only thing is that it's from behind and not in your face. The "looters" and "finders" of New Orleans can tell you. Now back to my life; I started collecting Music from the age of 6 (I lived across the street from a record shop) and by the age of 12 I became a different type of dj (Long before the whole dj culture thing happened). Funk, Electro, Hip-Hop, Disco and Techno-pop were what I spun in those days. From high school dances to block parties, to house jams and get togethers. Anytime I got the chance I would bring my music and set up shop (I also Emceed, Breakdanced and was a graffiti artist). By 15 I managed to get into adult night clubs and gig. My style was very diverse so it landed me work everywhere I stepped in. For a while I played in everything from Punk Rock bars to New Wave clubs, Urban clubs, Gay bars, to Art galleries and opened the minds of the most hardcore fan to music they would have normally NOT heard. I found my love for music to be the way of changing my surroundings by bringing and bridging all kinds of people together. New Orleans Night clubs were very segregated in those days. In 1989 I made a move for 6 months to NYC and got introduced to the Underground House and Garage scene and fell in love. It had everything I felt and where music was usually angry or sad in those days, I saw the positive elements that these sounds bought to the dance floor. It was Heavenly to see how my crowd reacted. After my half year in NYC I returned to New Orleans where I began to rise and held residencies at Deja Vu, Andy Capp's, Biggles, X-art, House of Desire, Bedrock, Spectrum & Utility. I managed to spin along side Damon Wild (Synewave), Trent Delaune, Reed McGowan, Doug Bryson and Max Rodriguez (NYC) and learned a huge amount of things from them. I also reported to the Brand-X Underground chart(NYC) and Sonic Groove records newsletter and chart.(Tracks and artist went through us before Billboard). In 1991 my heart was set on moving back to New York because I knew I was too far ahead of my time for New Orleans, so that's just what I did. I struggled and fell on my ass quite a few times, but I moved forward. I witnessed the birth of the east coast Rave movement(Storm Raves) and saw the birth of suburbanite debauchery, the Club Kids and Techno Mafia. I also saw how phony and competitive that scene became and it's demise. (the promoters got greedy and started hiring inferior dj's) I saw how drugs were more important to this crowd than music. I made a move to Jersey City and Newark NJ. House and Garage became my shelter and in those years. I managed to hold residencies in many of New York and New Jersey's hottest clubs (see music section of this page)playing along with some of the world's very best d.j.s. In New Jersey I also worked with a group of South Asian dj's known as Music Patrol international along side Jay Dubai "Lil Jay" and incorporated Banghra, Euro-house, Soca, Trance and Dance Hall Reggae. I also worked with Ultimate Sounds and incorporated Latin House/Tribal, (Reggae en Espanol now known as Reggaeton), Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Latin Jazz and tropical dance to my sets. I mixed Abstract soundtracks for Art galleries and Avant Garde Runway/Fashion shows. When I moved to New York many of my peers laughed and underestimated me, I proved them wrong and left them in shock. I chose not to compete, instead I chose to be unique and creative. I chose not to be Genre specific, but to be Eclectic. That's how I played my game. I did not want to fall into the stereotype that many dj's fall into. I returned to New Orleans in 1996 and ignited all of the major Dancefloors. I started a phantom Nightclub promotions company called Bionic jazz Entertainment 2012 and I managed and nurtured a troop New Orleans fierces dj's. In my life I always put everyone else before myself, but now it's my turn to rise and shine. Why don't you produce tracks they asked, because then was not the time. Now is the time the detonator has been set. A rare dinosaur egg getting ready to hatch. A Soul who seeks to better the World through music, art, revolution, evolution, poetry, events, consideration and action. Did I mention, I'm also a visual artist (That's another story)..Today I reside in Meridian, Mississippi. I am a father to two amazing boys. I also spin on the weekends at OPTIONS Ultra Lounge and After Hours Dance Club in Meehan/Meridian, Mississippi, I am currently working on 3 productions and 1 remix (The Original is my profile song, for my Mentor Mark Kamins) I spin in New Orleans and other cities during major events and I plan to enlighten people to a more spiritual state of conscienceness with with the Music I've written...Stay tuned....I am the only dj I know that can be placed in front of any crowd and make it happen....Eclectic, from the Ghetto to Upscale Fashionista and all points in between.
27 years (yes 27) of struggling with a no sell-out / no fear outlook on life. It's a very difficult task to change people's perceptions and open their minds, but I always seem to persevere with a smile. All underground, an inspire r of fresh taste, independent thought, passion and creativity. Your true self-worth is through your soul and it's action. Not what you wear, drive or live in. Money and material things come and go...(believe me I know) but the soul always continues on.
Society needs a Remix to fit everyone. It is simply too bias and really only benefits the selfish, evil and greedy...But don't despair my People and I are working on it....(This is Boris my youngest son) He was born on Valentines day so you know his energy.......nice to meet you.
You, You and You....Get ready NEW MIXES are on the way. I have a series of PROMOTIONAL MASTER MIXES which I'm launching in a few weeks "FREE " for all of my My Space friends.. I will have links placed on my page. This series will be an incredible collection of the very best New and Classic Underground and will consist of Every Style of music I spin from All styles of HOUSE From (Deep, Funky and Soulful to Hard and Techy), Old School and New School Electro, Disco, Broken Beat, Funk, Soul, Rare Grooves, Avant Garde, Abstract Experimental, Classic Rock/Punk Rock Mash-Ups (my versions), Techno, NuJazz, Jersey and Baltimore Club, New Orleans Bounce, Chicago Ghetto House, Back Pack and Old School Hip-Hop, Dance-hall and Dub Reggae, Latin Tribal, Progressive Trance, Balleric, Bhangra, Industrial, Drum N Bass, World Beat and many other vibes.
