This is a piece I did for a very beautiful awsome girl named Michelle who has been there for me even when I don't know it. I did it all in colored pencil and then threw it up on a wall in Photoshop for dramatic effect.

IN THE BEGINNING: Dj ROCKIT discovered the sounds of Techno in 1990 when first hearing the song "The Spice Must Flow" by Eon at a local club in Fresno, Ca called METROPOLIS. At the time being in a local Punk band, hearing this new sound of what would be known as Electronica led to Rockit's passion for electronic dance music and to his journey into the underground rave scene and club culture. But it would be some time for him to fully discover this New World and his new destiny.
It wasn’t until Rockit attended his first Rave in 94' know as GENERATION, where he witnessed the likes of Dj Dan, Jeno, Carlos and others doing some amazing things with the records they played and the turntables they used. From that moment on he know he was hooked on this new and exciting world of sound! From there on he would attend Raves in Sacramento and in the San Francisco bay area on a weekly basis. Along with that, he became a weekly regular at three of the biggest nights for under ground dance music in the Sacramento area. Two nights at the RAGE nightclub called PURE and FREEDOM and the third at an underground club known as OOGA BOOGA.
With his love for underground dance music, Rudy formed a Houser / Stepper dance crew with his best friends Tony and Rich back during that time. Together they traveled to parties all over Northern California to display their dance moves and skills against other dance crews in the rave and club scene. While traveling, Rudy fell in love with the idea of DJ'ing and the concept of making people dance along with him and getting them hyped about the music too. He dreamed of the day he would get to play for the people he party along side and for the DJ’s that inspired him and made him move on a weekly basis. And that he would have them all grooving to his every rhythm and to the records he dropped.
On January 1st 1995, Rudy took up the art of Dj'ing and Dj ROCKIT was Created. Stepping behind the decks, he set out to with one mission, to make people feel the groove and party their asses off!
Dj ROCKIT from there on developed his own unique style of Progressive House, Breaks and Trance. Since then he has played at parties ranging from small intimate events to some of the biggest Massive's and nightclubs in Northern California, Las Vegas, Idaho and Utah. Dj ROCKIT has opened for, played along side and on the same bill as some of the best-known and most talented DJ’s in the world. The list includes: Paul Oakenfold, Sandra Collins, Dj Dan, Madame Mercury, Dyloot, Ariel Cybana, John Debo, Stryke, Influence, Donald Glaude, Rick V, Christopher Lawrence, Micro, Dj Dennis, Berry Weaver, Robert Oleysyck, Mistress Barbara, Grand Master flash, Eddie Edul, Mars, Onionz, Jeno, John Acquaviva, Charles Feelgood, Afrika Bambaataa, Terry Mullen and many more.
IN THE MIDDLE: In 2000, one of Dj ROCKIT’s dreams became true when he became the main Thursday night resident DJ for the Rage night club in his hometown Sacramento and held a two-year residency there at the EMD night know as LIFT. It was here where he would bring the Progressive Trance, Breaks and House sound he was known for to the Sacramento main stream masses. He has also held residencies for several of the most well known rave and club production companies in Sacramento throughout the years. In the mid and late 90's. Subsonic Underground and Fuz-e Productions. From 2000 to 2005 he was a resident for Family Funktions and he was also the main resident DJ and Co-Founder of the PHUNKY PEOPLE PROJECT. It was a production company which he and co-founder DJ LADYLOVE started together for the reason of throwing small low cost and free events over the past few years to help their local DJ’s gain their own recognition in the local scene. The goal of these parties is to create a more intimate vibe and to give up and coming DJ’s a chance to be heard. And to help the local scene get back that old school feeling of unity and togetherness. Dj ROCKIT also held a BI-monthly residency Saturday nights on one of the hottest underground music site around, Mercurysessions.com from 2003 to 2005. They hosted his Internet radio show known as ADDICTIVE. It is was there he and his monthly guest were able to showcase their sound of Progressive Breaks, Trance and House on a global level.
One of Dj ROCKITS proudest moments and achievements in his career happened back on Sept 5th of 2004, Dj ROCKIT was crowned the current winner of the USA Heineken, Club Ice DJ challenge. This contest which was held at ICE in Las Vegas was also filmed for the first network for men, Spike TV’s reality show called THE CLUB.
Where he and twelve other DJ’s that were picked from out of over 250 DJ’s to participate in the contest to battle for the 2004 Heineken DJ Challenge title and the chance to open at the clubs most packed night along side World renowned DJ’s Paul Oakenfold and Sandra Collins. Dj Rockit was judged and finally picked by Paul Oakenfold as the winner of the contest amongst a finale three talented DJ’s that included himself, Dj Love Jewels and Dj Diamond. And during the contest, he made short spot appearances on several of the shows episodes with the other contestants. And then was finally featured along with Paul Oakenfold and Sandra Collins on the shows next to last episode as the winner of the DJ challenge where he also had the pleasure of opening for Paul and Sandra there at ICE.
AND NOW: As of today he currently holds a residency for one of the hottest rising underground production companies in San Francisco and in Sacramento know as STRATEGIK Productions Where he has been seen doing as he always does, tearing up the decks. Dj ROCKIT is chasing another dream of his at this time which is graphic and website design. He is a full time student at the International Academy of Design and Technology where he is now in the process of gaining his bachelors degree so he can be able to show his graphic design skills to the would along with his mixing abilities.
